*Ben's POV*

She has no right, no right to drag us away from our mates. I know our mom is trying to keep us safe, to keep us together, but to yank us away from our mates? I know I can't resist, my mother seems fragile, but she's not. She's evil and can harm anybody if she really wants to.

I can't have her hurting Jamie or her family, I won't allow it. I sighed and walked faster to catch up to Nate. He's been heart-broken since he found and left Cassidy but because both of them are so young the mating bond isn't so strong.

Lucky bastard. He doesn't have to worry about not mating until next year when he turns sixteen. And even then I'm pretty positive Cassidy is a year younger so that bond still won't be as strong. But Jamie and I are eighteen, the bond is there and it is strong.

During the attack two things happened. One my dad ran off trying to follow the rouge's so he can hopefully find my little sister who was kidnapped when she was younger. We don't talk about her though because she's a touchy topic. The second thing that happened was a rouge managed to slash Nate's throat. Mom heeled him, being our old pack doctor and all, but his voice is strained so he won't be able to talk for a few months

Atop of that he's skittish and always on edge. It's painful to watch him always on guard. He's fifteen for heaven's sake, he should be off running around and be care-free.

This is all just bull-shit. I have consist headaches because JC won't shut up about getting up and running to our mate. The only time he's been calm was when Jamie contacted us.

We have to mate soon.

After Jamie contacted me my motivation to mark her as soon as I see her became stronger, almost unbearable. Nate groaned loudly catching the attention of my mom who was walking ahead, swatting at the tree's branches.

"What is it Nate?" She's irritated, ever since we left Nate and I have been coming up with excuses so we could stop, like I told Jamie. I paused my ripping paper for the trail so she wouldn't hear and get suspicious.

Nate's hands went up to his head by his ear signaling he wants to sleep now rather than continue a little longer. "We have to go a little further." She pushed, continuing to push the tree branches.

"We want to sleep now." I spoke up, setting my bag down in stubbornness.

Mom groaned, letting go of the branch she had in her hands, stomping over to us, "Benjamin and Nathaniel, stop being so stubborn and let's go."

"Why are you doing this?" I asked angrily. She has to know what it feels like to be away from their mate for so long. My dad, her mate, has been gone for almost a month now. She knows how much our wolves yearn for our mates but yet, she does this to us.

"I already told you Ben, we can't stay here. Not with those people." Nate growled which I knew caused more irritation to his throat.

"Those people happen to be our mate's family."

Her nose wrinkled up, "so?"

"So, you should know how it feels to be taken away from your mate." She shrugged, as if she didn't care but I know she does. I hear her cry at night from time to time for dad. I yank the branch that was in her hands, making her stop.

"Ben, stop it. We're not heading back."

I sigh, running my fingers through my dirty locks. "Fine, but can we at least rest. It's almost night."
