*Jordan's POV*
REALLY Unedited. Possibly bad grammar, I haven't even read over the chapter.
My cereal is soggy.
I hate soggy cereal.
Since the end of the miniature battle between my pack and the rouges, my mood has gone south. Talking to anyone right now is a hassle because anything sets me off. So to make sure I don't say something I'll regret or react in a manner that will cause more issue than needed, I'm staying away from basically everyone. Even Summer.
Our month is coming to an end but I've been drinking a nasty, disgusting drink that was discovered a few years ago that slows down the need to mark and mate with our mates. It'll give Summer at least two weeks extra until we have to mark each other. I know she's not ready and I have to respect that but we have to mark each other before my wolf dies. I love Summer, but I also need my wolf, even though that idiot is willing to waste away from her. Of course I'd do anything for her but what is going to happen if I die?
Grunting angrily, I stabbed my cereal. "Eat it Jordan." Mom scowled, resting her hands on the counter in front of me. Slowly I lifted the spoon full of soggy ugliness to my mouth. With a scowl on my face, I chewed what could be chewed. "So, how's the mating coming along?"
I shook my head, "it's not, it's not coming along." I pushed the bowl away, losing my appetite. "I'm going outside." Mom told me to be careful as I set my bowl down in the sink. Without giving her a response, I quickly made my way outside and toward the woods. My wolf needs a good run. As I pulled my shirt over my head, a twig snapped behind me. I stiffened, pulling my shirt back down.
"Jordan?" I twirled around and almost fainted when Kelly, my old, supposedly dead, friend stepped out from behind a tree. So Jamie hasn't lost her shit. Kelly is alive. "Hey Jordan." She smiled, coming closer to where I stood.
Without realizing it, I backed away from her. I'm completely dumbfounded. "H-how are you here?" I finally managed to mutter.
"Didn't Jamie tell you about me?"
Shit, I should have listened to her. I could smell Kelly around the house and Jamie told us about Kelly but I turned my head away from the facts so I wouldn't have to worry about the situation. Some soon-to-be Alpha I am. "I didn't listen to her."
"Really? Oh gosh."
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Why? What's happening Kelly?"
"You should have already made a plan, a plan to stop them from taking Meadow."
I grunted and rested my hand on my knees, hunching over. "When are they planning on attacking?"
Kelly shook her head. "I don't know for sure, they don't send memos about this kind of stuff Jordan but I do know it's soon."
"How do you even know all of this? How do I know I can trust what you're saying?"
Kelly looked distraught. "I wasn't killed, I was kidnapped but they made seem like I died." She sat down by an old tree, patting the spot next to her. I decided against that and sat down across from her. Her eyes showed she looked hurt but right now I don't care. "I don't know why they want me alive but—"
"How do I know if they're not feeding you bull shit to distract us. Why are you helping us?"
Kelly shuffled a bit, trying to get comfortable. "Faith. I don't know Jordan you just have to trust me." I narrowed my eyes at her, starting to stand up. "No, no please listen."
