Emily's POV
I panic as I enter the front door. I see my dad passed out again at the bottom of the stairs.
I pick up my phone up and ring 911 again. I cry as the paramedics take my dad away again.
I text Stacey.
To bestest bitch: I found my dad unconscious again. Meet me at the hospital. I need you with me. Thanks.
I get the bus to the hospital and as soon as I pull up Stacey, Kyle and Aidan are already at the parking lot. Seeing me they run over and Stacey pulls me into a hug.
"I know something bad is going to happen, he's been acting strange all week!". I exclaim crying into Stacey's shoulder.
She reassures me he's going to be okay. I have a bad feeling. We walk into the waiting room and all four of us sit down waiting to hear news. My eyes are starting to sting because of my tears. I look up to see Stacey and Kyle looking at me with sympathy and Aidan having a blank look on his face.
After waiting for a hour hours I still hear no news on him.
"You guys can go home, There is no point in all of you being here". I sigh wanting to be alone right now.
"Okay me and Kyle are going to leave if you want us too". I nod smiling at her.
"Thank you for coming". She nods her head as Kyle gives me a sad look.
"Bye, I hope he's okay". I force I smile hoping he is too.
Aidan still sits there not saying a word or looking at me. The nurse I appears in the waiting room. "Emily Smith?" She questions. I bounce up ready to hear some news.
"You can come with me now, he's awake!". She smiles with sympathy.
"You can go now". I tell Aidan. He nods and walks away and leaves the hospital. I smile thanking the nurse for being patient and leads me to my dad. "Hey, Sweetie" my dad says as soon as I step into the room. I run over and hug him tight.
Looking at my dad. He looks worse than before bigger eyes, red tear stained cheeks and ghostly white.
Looking down at his hands I notice he's lost a fuck ton of weight. Something is wrong."Dad you need to tell me what's happening, why do you keep fainting!?". He sighs looking away.
"Tell me dad!". I beg.
"Okay, sit down on that chair and give me a glass a water because I have a lot to tell you". I quickly give him a glass of water before sitting down.
"Don't be upset love, I'm not well and haven't been for a long time". Tears spring my eyes.
"How sick are you!?". He looks away sighing.
" I have terminal lung cancer, sweetie". I ball my eyes out.
"Why didn't you tell me!". I say angry lacing my voice.
"Don't be angry sweetie, I didn't wanna tell you because I have seen how happy you have been these last few months". I shake my head.
"How long do you have!?". Wiping away my tears.
"A few weeks". I shake my head.
"I need to go, I want time to think. I will see you tomorrow. Bye". I say quickly wanting to leave.
"Okay sweetie take your time to process this". I nod my head leaving the hospital room.
I cant believe it, he cant leave me. Who can I turn too when he's gone?.
I think as fresh tears spring my eyes. I need someone right about now. I sigh knowing where I have to go. Only one person can make me feel better.
I walk to the lake and see Aidan isn't there. I fall to my knees. Someone please take this pain away!!. I cry harder to myself.
"Why is my life so shit, someone please help me, I want this pain to go!". I scream looking into the sky. I hiccuped because of all the crying.
I have been doing in the last few hours. I start to lose my breath because I'm crying and panicking that much. Someone help me I thought into myself.
I hear someone behind me sitting down and before I can turn around I'm pulled into someone's chest. "Hey calm down. Breathe. I'm here now". Aidan!. He whispers things into my ear.
I put my hand on his that are around my waist as I calm down and regulate my breathing.
"Thanks". I whisper to him as my throat is swollen from the crying.
"Its okay, I have you now. What happened?". He puts his chin on my shoulder still holding cuddling me from behind.
"My dad has terminal cancer, he only has a few weeks left to live". He sighs.
"I'm so sorry to hear that Emily. I am here for you no matter what". All of a sudden I feel angry.
"How could he not tell me Aidan?" I shake my head wanting him to left go off me so I can walk this angry off.
He clings onto me even harder. "Calm down Emily. I'm not letting you go". Knowing he wont I lean against his chest.
" I don't know why he didn't tell you but he's going through this too and he needs you right now". I sigh knowing he's right.
"Who's going to be there for me when he dies, he's my world. He cant leave me". I say getting upset again.
"I'm right here Emily. I'm not going anywhere, I wish I could stop the pain your feeling". He squeezes me tighter.
"Keep holding me, its helping me more than you will ever know". I whisper.
"I will always be here Emily. Always!". He exclaims seriously.
Turning round to look at him I stroke his cheek.
"Thank you so much Aidan. You really helped me tonight". I give him a small smile. He looks into my green eyes before replying.
"Its okay, I just want you to be okay". He admits quietly.
I lean my forehead on his closing my eyes. Only he can make me feel like this I thought as my heart skips. I pull him into a hug before standing up wiping my face.
"Give me your phone". He demands. Not wanting to fight I give him my phone. He passes it back to me.
"Lets get you home. You need to rest, I will walk you back because its almost midnight". He reaches for my hand.
My heart warming at the fact he cares. I nod as we slowly make our way to my house.
I return back to my house and walk to my room. Jumping into my bed not having the energy physically or mentally to change into my pyjamas. I quickly go to sleep wanting to numb these feelings.
