Aidan's POV
When I woke up I was still angry at Emily but I cant go into school and see her broken face one more time. Not knowing what I should do I quickly get ready and head down stairs to talk to Kyle.
"Man what should I do to help her?". I sigh with sadness. Kyle sits up from the sofa in shock.
"You want to help her?". I nod as Kyle stands up stretching.
"Yeah, I was thinking about it all last night. I cant go to school and see her broken face. It hurts to see her like that". Kyle sends me a goofy smile.
"This may seem very rational but only one person knows her better than anyone". I know exactly who Kyle is talking about.
"You think I should take the day off a visit her dad?". He nods crossing his arms.
"I will make sure Stacey gets Emily to school so you don't bump into her". I send him a quick thanks before walking into the kitchen to make some food as Kyle is on the phone to Stacey.
"Alright bro that's me away or else I will be late for school. Good luck with the hospital and keep me updated". He shouts while walking towards the door.
"Thanks man, see you later!". I should back as he closes the door.
After a few minutes I leave my house and get on my precious black matt motorbike. Making sure Emily and Stacey aren't at the bus stop I drive past Emily's house as I drive towards the hospital.
I'm shitting this, what if he doesn't like me? Or not good enough for his daughter, well I wouldn't blame him for thinking that one because I know I'm not good enough.
I enter the hospital and head towards the receptionist. She sends me a flirty smile. Great!.
"What room is Mr. Smith in please?". I say quickly wanting to get rid of her. "Room 213 on the 4th floor". She passes me a piece of paper. Her number is written on it. I look at it and crumple it up and throw it away right in front of her. Her face was priceless.
I walk towards the door with the number 213. I quickly walk in knowing if I don't do it now I wont ever. I'm doing this for Emily I thought to myself as I close the hospital door looking at a very pale man known as Emily's dad.
Shock on his face he asks. "Who are you?". I stand beside the door not wanting to panic him more.
"I'm a friend of Emily's. I came here to talk to you". I give him pleading eyes hoping he says yes. His eyes are the same as Emily's I think to myself.
"Yeah I know I think your the one she mentioned to me before". He sends me a quick smile.
"Really"?. A small smile on my lips. He nods his head smiling back.
I walk over to the chair beside him. "I came here today to ask you if theres anything I can do to help Emily. I cant stand to look at her broken face any longer". I say with a sad voice as I look at Mr. Smith. He stares at me with shock.
"You want to help my daughter?". I nod my head as he smiles like a crazy man. Tears spring in his eyes.
"What's wrong?". I exclaim. He looks at me again with relief.
"I'm just so happy your willing to help her and she has you to fall back on after I pass". He wheezes out. I pass him some water.
"Thank you boy".
"My daughter is completely broken at the fact I'm dying and in under a week now". I interrupt him.
"Under a week!?". I exclaim. He nods his head. No wonder Emily is so upset. "She needs someone like you to love her". I stop him.
"Love?, I'm sorry Mr. Smith but I don't love your daughter". He smirks. "In time". I shake my head.
"It cant happen. I'm sorry I wont let her get close to me". I say with sadness. I need her as much as she needs me I think to myself.
He stares at me still having the smirk on his face. "She told me you had a troubled past boy, You clearly care for her and if you didn't you wouldn't have turned up today. I was once like you I didn't show my emotions and because of that I lost Emily's mother because she cheated. I didn't pay her enough attention. I loved her dearly. So take advice from me boy, Tell her and act on your emotions before its too late". Sadness lacing his voice.
"I want to help her Mr.Smith, not hurt her". He scoffs and dryly laughs.
"You don't think your hurting her by not being with her. She needs you more than Stacey, Deep down you know that too but getting close to her scares you". He says truthfully.
"Take the risk boy, Get that happiness and comfort your screaming out for". I'm completely shocked.
"How do you know this Mr.Smith?". I question. "I can see it in your eyes boy". I nod understanding.
"You being with her will help her, She only needs you".
I sigh knowing what he is saying is the truth. I want to be with her so bad but I'm just scared I will end up like my father. I wish I had a father like Emily's. He grabs my hand. "Promise me one thing boy". I nod my head wanting him to continue.
"Help my daughter no matter what it takes and be there for her". He wheezes out again and squeezes his eyes in pain.
"I promise, Mr.Smith. I say with determination. He sends me a grateful smile.
"It was nice to meet you Mr.Smith. I'm sorry we had to meet this way but I promise to look after your daughter with all my heart". I say truthfully.
"Nice to meet you to boy. I can rest now knowing she's in safe hands when I pass". He smiles.
I nod my head before saying a quick goodbye before leaving the room.
As soon a sit on my motorcycle I get out my phone knowing what I have to do. I text my supplier.
Supplier: Cancel all of my orders. You wont hear from me again.
I don't give him a chance to reply because I block and delete his number. Next is Kevin.
Kevin: I quit the ring. You wont ever hear or see me again. Bye.
Yet again I block and delete his number. All I can think about his Emily. I need to be the man she needs right now.
I drive out of the hospital and just as I'm about to leave I see Emily walking to the entrance oblivious to me.
Her face shows no emotion. My heart breaks for her.
Tomorrow I will start being the man she needs, first I need to talk to Kyle. I drive out and drive towards my house.
Kyle: Come to my house bro. I have so much to tell you.
