25- The End Of A Chapter

A/N: SPOILERS FOR THE SEASON FINALE.


"You're taking Iris to Earth Two?" I ask Wally.

"So Savitar can't find her," Kid Flash responds. "Its on the safe side."

"Yeah. Just in case I can't save her form her demise," I mutter.

"Don't say that. You can't blame yourself already."

"I already do. Maybe I should stay here and keep Barry company and stuff."

"Oh no, you're coming with us," Wally steers me toward my suit. "Go put it on. We're leaving."

"But what about--?"

"End of discussion. Come on Sky, if Iris isn't here, Savitar might target you instead."
I do not bother arguing with Wally, and grab my suit off its rack.
"Fine," I tell him. "I'll come."

"Good," Wally smiles. "We don't need two people in danger of death tonight."

"I still don't think Barry and Captain Cold should break into A.R.G.U.S, they have a lot of terrible crooks locked up in there."

"They'll be okay."

"I hope so," I exhale. "I'll get my suit in, and then we can go."



ONE HOUR LATER. . .

I aim a bolt of lightning at Savitar. "You can't take her."
"Watch me," the speedster growls.

Then Wally leaps out at him, and the speedsters race around Harrison Wells' breach room.
I teleport in front of Iris to block her from Savitar.

Iris leans close to my ear and whispers, "did you hold up your half of the deal?"

"The message?" I whisper back. "Yeah. I recorded it."
"Good."

There's a thud, and Wally falls to the ground. I try not to leave Iris to help him, just in case Savitar tries to take her.

I glare at Savitar for a moment, then I soften my gaze. "Barry, you can redeem yourself."

Barry's Time Remnant gives me a threatening look. "I'm not Barry anymore."

"Yes you are," Joe says.

The next few minutes is filled with Joe, Iris and I pleading with Savitar/ Future Barry to change.
There's a blur or blue lightning, and I reach out to grab Iris away from him, but she's gone.

The lightning is blinding, and before I know what's happening , I'm taken with Iris by the turned speedster. I teleport, and send off electricity, somehow escaping Savitar.
I make it back to Harrison Wells Lab, and find myself staring into Barry's face.

"I'm sorry," is all I can say. 

Savitar is holding Iris, standing in the middle of Central City Park. The clock at the street corner reads five minutes after twelve at night. The time either Iris or I die.

"Don't do this please," Barry begs.

"Time's up, Flash." Savitar holds out his claw, ready to stab her.

"No, not this time," I murmur.

I teleport to them, and grab Iris. I am just about to take her to safety, when sharp metal goes straight through her and into me.
I look at Savitar, then to Iris. She looks shocked that I even tried to risk my life.

The next thing I know, I'm on the ground staring up at the starless sky. I turn my slowly head and see Barry clutching Iris close to him. Then he looks over at me. His green eyes grow wide, and tears stream down his face.

Guilt washes over me, out weighing the pain I feel in the place where I got impaled, which was not as bad as Iris.
I could have saved her. But I did not.

I take in a shuddering breath.
Then my heart skips a beat in the worst way possible. Two sticks fell out of Iris's pockets.
Tracy runs over to the two figures, and I realize that it was HR who got hurt.
Iris is still alive. HR sacrificed himself.

I close my eyes, feeling both relief and dread.
The ground feels cold and stiff. I feel someone touch my face which is growing numb. I gradually open my eyelids, and look up to see Barry. He has tears in his eyes, but he's smiling.

The longer I look at Savitar's scarred face, the more I start to question how he got to be this way.
"Just give us some time to figure this out. We can find a way to save you."

"No you can't," Barry's Time Remnant says.

"There's always a way."

"You always say that, but its not true."

"Please," I look him in his eyes. One green, and one a glazed over blue color, showing blindness. "Let us help. Bring back Cisco and Caitlin."

Barry's Time Remnant gives me a long look. "Okay."

Iris, Barry, and I watch Savitar leave. Then there's a high pitch beeping noise.

"What's that? Is that the..?"

"Its the Breach Room," Barry says. We walk into The Cortex. "Savitar created a reactor using the Philosopher's Stone. Wally, get everyone out."

I grab Iris and Tracy, and Wally gets the rest. When we have everyone outside, we watch as a bright pale blue ray shoots out of the STAR Labs roof.

Maybe there is no hope for Savitar after all.
