Victoria's POV:
I woke up and tried to wake up my best friend who was sleeping in my bed. She wore my huge oversized white sweater that I let her borrow last night. Alexis and I had been best friends since fourth grade. Originally I hated how she was gifted at everything that she set her mind to, but I learned to love how humble she was. Alexis was a nerd and I was goth; it was a weird combo.
I gave up trying to wake her up very quickly.
There was a knock on the front door. I sighed and went to open the door as Alexis just rolled over in her sleep.
I swung the door open.
Chris: "Where the hell is she?!"
Victoria: "What the hell are you doing here?"
Chris: " I know she is here."
Victoria: "If you don't leave, I'm going to cal-"
Heavy hands shoved me to the ground and I hit my head on the nearby vase. The aching wouldn't stop.
Alexis' POV:
A loud thumping noise from the living room woke me up.
Alexis: "Victoria?!" I yelled.
There was radio silence and it wasn't the comforting kind.
I grabbed Victoria's baseball bat from under her bed and gripped it tightly waiting for whatever was coming at me to walk in the room.
The door swung open and I hurled the bat at the door.
Victoria ducked as the bat flew past her out of the room and into the hallway.
Victoria: "Why can't I ever just get a hello? "
Alexis: "I heard something in the living room and I called for you."
Victoria: "I just knocked out your boyfriend, I couldn't exactly respond."
Alexis: "Oh my god, what did you do to him?!"
Victoria: "Calm down princess. He's just going to need some time to wake up, but I dragged him outside the apartment gate."
My phone vibrated on Victoria's nightstand, so I grabbed it.
Alexis: "Oh shit. I need to get to class; it's almost noon!"
Victoria: "I tried waking you up hours ago and you flicked me off in your sleep."
Alexis: "I have a project presentation and this was the day I scheduled to present."
Victoria: "I guess I'll go start the car."
Alexis: "I need to make a phone call; I'll be down in five minutes."
I called the office praying that she wouldn't pick up.
Amber: "Hello, this is Dixon's publishing house how can I help you?"
Alexis sighed why the hell did her internship boss have to hire his daughter as the phone receptionist? Couldn't she just be rich somewhere else and not mock the people that actually worked there for once?
Alexis: "It's Alexis, can you tell your dad I can't come into work today?"
Amber: "This is your fourth time not coming in and you were supposed to drop by last night for the meeting. What's the deal?"
