Alexis's POV
Amber just stared at me in confusion and I had no idea what to say to her. So I came up with the most generic lie.
Alexis: "He must have mistaken me for someone else. I just came here for a research paper that I have to do for psychology."
Amber: "You missed work for this?"
Alexis: "Please don't tell your dad...I'm failing psychology and if I don't do well on this research paper I might flunk the course."
That was a huge ass lie, I was acing psychology but I didn't want to lose the internship. I needed the money.
Amber gave me a look of disbelief, but then she surprised me.
Amber: "It's okay I'm failing psychology and math right now too. I understand. I won't tell my dad about seeing you here."
I breathed out a sigh of relief and hugged Amber because she was covering for my ass. I don't know why Amber kept lying for me; but it sure as hell was appericiated.
Amber's POV
Alexis is the most laziest person I have ever met. How did this girl get to be the president of honors society and vice president of a sorority if she is failing a class and doesn't ever bother to call into work and tell my dad she won't come in? I thought this girl was someone different...
Before my dad and I even moved to Miami and started our agency, I had been in love with Alexis's writing ever since I read her short story that was published in a collection of new modern bestselling short stories last year. I stalked Alexis for years and when I found out we were moving to Miami I went to her church because her biography said she was a church leader. I wasn't in church to sing hallelujah, I just wanted to see her. Soon enough she was my church teacher and then I found out the university I transferred to was the same college she attended.
I casually talked her up to my dad and he gave her an internship very quickly at our publishing house, just like I wanted. I observed her for months and I don't think she even noticed me until recently.
Alexis was beautiful. Her long brown hair and beautiful brown eyes captivated me. I really liked her writing, she sounded different on paper and I fell in love with her writing personality.
As I watched Alexis walk out of the strip club I sighed and knew that I had unintentionally fallen in love with a girl who probably never gave me a second thought and was probably a straight girl.
Alexis's POV
Shit. Shit. Shit.
I walked on stage half naked 15 minutes later than I should have been and Amber was still sitting at the table waiting to watch Krystal perform. She was the only person in the club right now and I wanted to run towards the exit, but I walked forward instead.
Alexis: "Five, six, seven, eight."
I motioned and shouted to our DJ and he started the music. I started the routine that I had learned last week, it was so easy.
I twerked on the pole to match the beat of the music and then I wrapped my leg around the pole and swung around, hoping that Amber would not recognize me although it was hard to recognize me with my white mask and nurse's outfit for tonight. My hair was in a bun; so I had to work my assets more.
I glanced in Amber's direction and when she noticed that I made eye contact, she winked at me.
Gross. Amber was definitely gay.
