I was on my way home from déjardè high school, (my school). And I was about a block away from the stoplights when a shiny little object caught my eye from the sidewalk. I bent down to see what it was and found that is was a little silver ring. I picked it up in my hand and examined it for a while. The ring was a little dusty but not dusty enough to cover up the shine of the ring. The ring also had a a little bit of rust on the outside. I could also see the ring had some engraved initials on the inside. They were kind of hard to see considering the dust but I could see that the initials were S.S. I stood there in confusion for a few minutes then I decided to take it home because I thought just maybe I could figure out who it belonged to.

When I finally got home, I dropped off my black, leather bag and went out in my friendly neighbourhood. (Since I know all my neighbours). So after I went to every house on my street and every person said that the ring wasn't theirs, I came to a huge house at the end of the street. When I stepped on the porch it creaked with every step I took and I noticed one of the windows were smashed. But I knew somebody lived there, though it didn't look like it. Someone lived there, and whoever did I didn't know them but I decided I had made it this far I might as well keep going. So I carefully stepped towards the huge door, still creaking, I knocked. I waited for about five minutes and finally the huge, old, dusty, wooden door slowly opened. And just a head of a lady popped out. "What do you want!?" The lady demanded! "I..uh.. Does this belong to you?" I nervously asked while holding out my hand with the ring sitting in the middle of it. "Where did you get this!?" She scolded. "I...I found it on the sidewalk back on pearl street. By my school." I replied in a shaking voice. "Yes!.. It is.. But you keep it now, it's yours!take it home and keep it away from here!" She yelled! "Uh" I admit it wasn't much of an answer. "It's yours now! Go home, and you stay away from me! You stay away from my house! And keep that THING away from me too!" She screamed as she turned me away from her and lightly pushed me away. I had just reached the second step on the porch stairs when I heard the old wooden door creakily slam behind me!
