"Ate, ate where are you going?" I asked with innocence in my voice.
"I'm going to my friends house Blaire." She said smiling and then patted my head.
"Can I come?! Can I?!" I said in excitement.
"No Blaire. Di ako papayagan ni Mama na isama ka with me."
"But ateeeee pleaseee." I said while showing her my puppy eyes.
"I really can't Blaire. I have to go. I love you." Then she kissed me in the forehead and began walking towards the door.
"Ate wait!" I shouted.
Tumigil siya at humarap saken.
"What is it honey?"
"Can you go to the mall and buy me a new barbie?!" I said with full of excitement in my voice.
"Sure blaire." She said smiling then left the house.
"Yeeey! New barbie! Sigurado pinakamagandang barbie yon!" I said to myself jumping up and down at the big sofa in our living room.
"Ay nako Blaire! Bumaba ka diyan at masisira spring niyang sofa!" Yaya shouted.
"Ayoko!"
"Blaire! Baba na baka maabutan ka pa diyan ni--- "
"Blaire! Makinig ka sa yaya mo!" Dad's commanding voice echoed in the house.
"Yes daddy." I said feeling shy.
"Hay anak, I told you diba. Makinig ka sa mga nakakatanda. Kaya ka nila pinagsasabihan para di ka makapahamak at mapahak. Naiintindihan mo ba?"
"Yes daddy. It's just parang trampoline kase yung sofa."
"Anak, sofa yan di yan trampoline. Ibibili ka na lang ni Daddy ng trampoline pero wag ka na ulit tatalon o tatayo sa sofa ha."
"Yes daddy." I said with a smile on my face and hugged Daddy.
"By the way, where is your Ate Chantel?"
"Ate Chantel is at the mall buying me Barbie!"
"Barbie? Dami dami mo ng barbie ah."
"Eeh, ang onti onti pa nga nun daddy eh."
Naguusap pa kame ni Daddy all about my barbies when dad's phone ringed.
"What?!!" Dad shouted with anger in his voice. And he is, he is crying???
"Dad? Dad?"
"Where is she?" Dad asked at the person he is talking through the phone. He is still crying.
"Okay thank you." Dad said, at binaba na yung phone.
"Dad what is happening? Why are you crying?" I asked.
"Blaire she's gone."
"Who? Who's gone daddy? Did she hide?"
Niyakap ako ni Daddy at patuloy pa reng umiiyak.
"Ate Chantel's gone, Blaire, she's dead."
He is always the strong, fierce man I know.
"H-how? Ate Chantel? He is not dead daddy! Stop joking!"
"I'm not joking Blaire, she really is." I can see the pain in his eyes.
"But h-how?! Ate said she will just be going to the mall to buy me barbies! And go to her friends house! How?!" I asked furious.
"At the mall, at the parking lot, she was at her car ng may magpasabog ng bomba sa parking lot."
"This is my fault! Sana di na lang ako nagpabili ng barbie edi sana nasa bahay lang siya ng kaibigan niya! Malas talaga ako!" I shouted crying.
"This is not your fault sweetie. Bad things always happens every time." Dad said comforting me.
"No! No! This is my fault!"
"Yaya!" Dad called for Yaya Sela.
"Yes sir?"
"Can you please accompany Blaire to her bedroom? I need to call her mother."
"Yes sir."
Everything will be fine." Yaya said, comforting me.
"No! Nothing's gonna be fine! Wala na si Ate Chantel! Stop saying na lahat magiging maayos! Na hindi ko kasalanan ang lahat ng ito!" I shouted, while still crying.
"Bwiset na mga barbie 'to!" I grabbed one of my barbies at hinatak ang ulo at braso pati mga binti nila.
Yaya was just standing there, looking at me with fear.
"Yaya! I want all of this barbies burned!"
"Y-yes Bl-blaire."
