"Isn't she supposed to be awake by now?"
The voices I was hearing sounded distant, but slowly became cleaner as I opened my eyes. I has to blink a lot in order to see clearly. I let a groan slip out, and suddenly Casey and a guy was standing over my head.
"See, I told you she would wake up," Casey said.
"Casey?"
I tried moving my arms and legs and realized that they were tied down. Then, I was fully awake.
"Casey, what the hell is going on?!"
I struggled to free myself.
"See, I told you she'd be mad!" The guy standing over me said.
"Just, take a deep breath or something?"
"Take a deep breath?! It feels like my insides are being ripped out!"
The guy, who I hadn't paid much attention to, said, "I think I'll come back later."
He left the room and I heard the lock click. Casey grabbed the keys and unlocked the shackles. I sat up and rubbed my wrists before standing up and punching Casey in the face. She fell to the ground.
"Alright, I'll let that slide since you're probably mad and it is my fault," she said, getting up and rubbing her face.
"I can't believe you! You brought me to this...this...where is this?" The gears in my brain started working.
"You're home."
Home? Oh crap!
"You brought me to my old work?! The one place I didn't want back in my life." I never wanted to come here. Literally, I was fuming.
Suddenly, the door lock clicked and the guy from before walked in.
"Casey, I brought ice you. Figured Amari would have hurt you in some way," he said.
He had medium length hair that curled at the ends and his eyes were the prettiest shade of orange-brown. He was about 6'2 ,judging but the fact that he was way taller than me and he had a stern build.
"Hey, Amari! You still look good from the last time I saw you," he said.
The fact that he knew me was freaky because I had no idea who he was. He ran his fingers through my soft, purple hair, but I smacked his hand away. "Hey Alan, I don't think Amari remembers you," Casey said.
"Alan? Who's that?" I asked, looking at him.
"Well for one, he's the guy standing in front of you." His sense of humor was similar to Casey's, so I figured they knew each other quite well.
"You really have no idea who I am?"
"You'd think the confused looks and blank stare would have answered that for you."
He rolled his eyes.
"Well, even if you don't remember me, I remember you and that's all that matters." He put his hands around my waist.
"Remove your hand or I will rip your arm off and beat you to death with it."
He slowly removed his hand and walked next to Casey. Then someone else walked in. He was an older looking guy, but I recognized him. He was my old boss. He looked at me and then saw the marks left on my wrists from the shackles. He then looked at Casey.
"I thought I'd make it clear we have a no abduction policy."
"She wasn't cooperating. What did you expect me to do?"
