I froze, not knowing what to say. Alan and Casey started running as I ran after them. We went into the office and I had couldn't help but look away. Mr.Bob was covered in stab marks, at least 20 wounds, and blood was everywhere. I forced myself to look around despite the sickening feeling I had. Alan noticed me and walked over.

"What's wrong Bunny? You don't look so good."

"It's nothing. Guess I've been gone for too long. Looking at dead bodies isn't as easy as it was before."

"Understandable." Alan walked away and continued to look around the office.

Wait, he called me "bunny" didn't he?

My head started to hurt as an image of a little boy giving me a stuffed bunny animal appeared.

"It's a cute bunny, just like you!" The boy said.

What the heck? Who is he?

I brought out of my thoughts by Casey's voice.

"Whoever did this has some extreme rage towards Mr.Bob. The stab wounds are random but deep as if the killer took a hammer to impale the knife in."

As I stared at the now deceased body , I noticed a bulge in Mr. Bob's crotch area. I walked over and shamelessly took off his pants. Alan ran over to me.

"Amari, you shouldn't have to look at that!"

I put my hand in his boxers and felt around. "Oh, please. I've cut off guys' dick as a form of torture many times. I think I can handle this."

Alan chuckled and covered his crotch area with his hands and walked away slowly. Finally, I found something and pulled out a piece of paper. "It's an address."

Casey got up. "Someone clean up this body. You two follow me."

The three of us walked back to Casey's bedroom. "I think Mr. Bob's murder is linked to out current assignment. We finished this, we find out killer," She said.

"It's kinda funny in a way. A killer killed another killer." Alan said.

I was getting tried so I quietly walked to the bed and laid down.

"Um, on that note, I'm gonna go and let two you sleep." And with that, he left.

Casey and I stood in the computer room with Alan as we put in out ear coms. "We will communicate through the coms," Alan said.

"Talk me through the plan again. I wasn't quite listening the first time," I said.

"Oh gosh, of course you weren't. Ok, well you and Casey will go to the address you found in Mr. Bob's...pants," I rolled my eyes, "and once you get there, just do...something."

"Wow, so descriptive." I zipped up my black combat shoes and tied the laces.

"Well if you listened the first time then-"

"Quit arguing both of you!" Casey snapped.

Alan got closer to me and whispered," What's up with Casey?"

"I don't really know. She's been yelling at all most everything this morning. She even yelled at her brush cause it got stuck in her hair," I laughed.

"Let's go."
*******
The silence between Casey and I as we walked become unbearable for me. I grabbed her wrist and held it up.

"What?"

She looked away from me. I sat on the ground and pulled Casey next to me.

"What are you doing? We have a job to do." She tried to get up, but I pulled her back down.

"The job can wait. What happened?"

She looked away again. As much as I was still angry with Casey, she was still someone who is important to me.

"Take your com out so Alan can't hear us talk. We will continue to sit here until you tell me what's wrong with you."

Casey sighed. "I regret not being able to tell you things. Things about your family, what happened while you were gone, and about Alan. There's a reason why you can't remember Alan, but," Casey's voice cracked, "he doesn't know the reason. Only I do. Every time I see you distance yourself from Alan, I regret what I did because there was a point where the two of you were really close." Her shoulders shook as she cried.

I cupped my hands around her face and made her look at me. "Why didn't you tell me this?" I whispered, looking at her teary eyes.

"Because," she replied, "I can hurt myself, but I can't hurt you."

I let my hands fall from her face as I looked down. As I was about to say something, Alan's voice from the com spoke," Are you two outside yet?"

Casey got up quickly and said," We should go," as she put her com back in and walked outside. I stood there for a bit thinking to myself.

I don't think you're as dark as you want people to believe, Casey.

I walked outside and followed Casey as we walked to our destination.

*********

As we reached our objective, Casey and I hid behind a sign. Casey shuddered.

"What's the word for that infestation of tiny creatures over there?"

I looked at her. "Those are children. That's a school."

"Oh."

I don't blame Casey. She didn't exactly get along with the other kids when we were younger. She still doesn't.

"Alan, does Dereck Lee have a child?" I asked.

"Um, no he doesn't. Why do you ask?

These ear coms are loud.

"The address we found is an elementary school.

Casey stood up. "Eh, screw this. Let's just blow it up and call it a day." She pulled out a grenade from the inside of her bag.

"No! They're kids! And anyway, why are you carrying grenades in you bag?!" I lashed out.

Alan laughed. "Amari, I see you're still a worrywart."

"Whatever. Let's just wait until nightfall and then investigate."
******

Hours past and finally the sun went down, leaving it pitch black outside. Casey and I made our way to the back entrance.

"It's locked." I kicked the door out of annoyance.

Casey suddenly reached out and took the bobby pin out of my hair, leaving my bangs to fall in front of my face. In a matter of minutes, Casey unlocked the door. We walked inside and was immediately greeted by three men dressed in black.

"Crap! Run!" I grabbed Casey's hand and took off with the men trailing behind.

We ran into some random hallway and stopped when we didn't hear the heavy footsteps behind us anymore. I fell to the ground, panting. "This is so your fault!"

"What?! You don't get to pin this break-in on me!

"But you were the one who broke in!" I chocked on my words.

Casey sat next me and we laughed slightly. After a few minutes of trying to catch out breath, Casey and I continued to walk around the school in darkness. I was looking into a classroom when I heard a thud behind me. Casey was on the ground, unconscious.

"Casey!"

As I ran to her, a pair of hands wrapped around me and a rag with a strange smell covered my face. I struggled to escape the enemy's grasp, but it was hopeless. I was trapped. The last words I heard before everything went black was, "We meet at last, Amari."
