"you guys wanna go see a dead body?"

those words changed my entire life all in a matter of seconds. it became the top priority in our group, especially to gordie and i.

gordie and i had a special connection. you could say we were soulmates, we just got each other. not like platonic soulmates, that's chris and i's thing. as twins, i think it's written in the stars that they are your platonic soulmate.

currently, chris and i were riding in the backseat of a blue pick up truck. it was certainly one of the hottest days ever. the scorching sun was beating against our necks making beads of sweat appear.

i suddenly spotted a figure that was all too familiar to my eyes. i waved so the driver could see that we needed to stop.

"right here's cool," i said as he stopped. chris and i waved and thanks and joined gordie on the sidewalk.

"hey, gordo." chris and i said in unison.

"Hey, you ok?" I asked placing a hand softly on his shoulder.

"Yea." He nodded and smiled reassuringly as well as blushing but that might have been from the heat. I smiled back and then Chris had to ruin our moment.

"C'mere I wanna show you something." He said and he led us to the trashy back of the Blue Point Diner.

"C'mon man, what is it?" Gordie asked curiously. Chris slowly grabbed the molded piece of cold metal from the inside of his sleeping mat.

"Do you want to be the Lone Ranger or the Cisco Kid?" He asked in a low tone.

"Walking talking Jesus," Gordie whispered in awe. I didn't know Chris was bringing the gun. We were too familiar with the machinery for comfort. Our dad didn't just use it for beer cans, but to threaten us with it. He never did anything, they were just threats. I was thinking more about the gun then I heard it go off.

"JESUS!" We all ran back to the front Chris concealing the gun back in its place.

"You knew it was loaded you wet end! We're gonna get in trouble since that tupper babe saw me." Gordie said, still freaked.

"Jesus Gordie she probably thought it was firecrackers," I said trying to reassure him this time.

"It still was a mean trick." And he gave Chris the death glare. I sighed and looked at my brother, twinstincts telling him what to do.

"Listen, Gordie, I didn't know it was loaded." Chris started to apologize.

"You swear?"

"Yea, I swear."

"On your mothers grave?"

"Yea Gordie I swear."

"Even if she goes to hell if you lied?"

"Yea!"

"Pinky swear?" Gordie asked as if it was the most sacred thing known to man.

"Pinky swear," Chris confirmed as he crossed his heart then kissed his pinky.
