This was it.

The day I was going to leave to find my long-lost sister. Time to say my last goodbyes. First I will have to find Jamin. He is usually by the pond next to the field. He goes there to think.

I walk over and find him sitting there, gazing into the water.

"Hey there," I start, "Whatcha doin'?"

"Nothing..." He says sarcastically.

"Yeah okay..." There is a long moment of silence.

"Well I came to say goodbye."

"Okay, bye."

"I don't see why you are upset."

"Who said I was upset?"

"No one but I can tell in the tone of your voice."

"What tone?"

"That one now tell me why you're mad."

He paused and moved his lips as if he were trying to find words.

".......WHY DO YOU HAVE TO GO??" He says while springing up to hug me.

"I'm sorry but I have to. I had a sign and I know in my heart that my sister is out there."

He slowly backs away.

"...who are you?"

"What do you mean?"

"What happened to your face??"

"Jamin stop it with the games I-"

"We have to get you to a doctor."

"I am the doctor and I feel fine!"

"Dawn look!"

He pushed my head down toward the water, urging me to see my reflection.

"What is WRONG with your FACE?!"

My face suddenly looks of red fur with white splotches and I have the face of a bear.

"Well?? What did you do? Use some weird medicine to make your face turn weird and scary or-"

I turned my head away from the water.

"Look, I have no clue what happened."

He had a puzzled look on his face now.

"Well whatever it was is over now. Nice one but now is not the time for jokes Dawn. Seriously?"

"I wasn't trying to joke around! I have no clue what just happened!!"

"Ya okay, bye Dawn."

So after that I gathered my things, wrapped them up in a sack the hunters had left behind, and started my way out of the pack.

The forest grows denser and denser the further I enter. Every now and then I feel like someone is following me. It's probably all in my head. I try to ignore it best I can but the feeling is so strong.

I feel like I hear whispering too. But every time I turn to look and see who it is, no one is there. This is really freaking me out, especially when the sun gets lower and the sky gets darker.

Should I ignore it?

Should I search for whatever is making the noise?

Should I be afraid?
