Chapter 8

HARPER'S POV

After eating breakfast with everyone, we moved to the living room where we sat down and talked some more.

They told me about the town and the people and even the type of person Zenith was.

"Hey, we should take you out. Give you a tour of the town." Jessie suggested and everyone agreed.

"I don't want to intrude in your lives." I objected, shaking my head.

Betty rolled her eyes, grabbing my hand and pulled me up.

"Come on, let's go." Everyone got up and walked outside.

Blake and Mason went to the car and we all waited upfront until they pulled in a silver eight passenger van.

"Damn." Betty muttered and we got in.

I sat by the window with Cassie beside me.

"Off we go!" Mason hooted and we pulled from the house.

The van was filled with chatter and laughter as they all pointed to things and explained sites. I looked around interested in it all.

"Oh, that's where I got my first kiss!" Claire gasped as she pointed at a café.

We all laughed and drove around the entire town.

When we got back to the house, we were tired and I learned a lot about the town and even Zenith.

"I'll see you all later." I said, walking up the stairs as we went our separate ways.

As I walked down the hall, I looked out the window towards the woods. Letting out a deep breath, I turned around and went back downstairs. Walking through the kitchen, I walked out through the side door.

A breeze blew lightly around me, I walked into the woods and looked around. Once I was comfortable, I stripped out of my clothes and shifted into my wolf.

I growled, feeling my bones start to shift and hair sprout on my body.

The cracking of my bones filled my ear as I fell to the floor and finally shifted into my wolf.

I was a large blonde wolf with amber eyes. Shaking out my fur, i stretvhed out my limbs.hook out my fur and stretvhed out my limbs.

Walking deeper into the woods. I broke into a sprint as I looked around. Everything looked so colorful and vibrant.

I ran faster and faster until I reached a stream. I drank some of its cool water and just walked around in wonder. I did feel better now that I let my wolf out and relaxed.

I wasn't quite how much time passed, but I was deep into the woods when I heard a snapped noise. Luna became alert and I looked around warily.

A man wearing a uniform with a gun in his hand appeared.

"Rogue, surrender or die." He stated firmly, pointing the gun at me.

Not wanting to frightened him, I sat down on and stared at him.

Laying down further on my stomach, I continued to look as he stared at me. He seemed to be mindlinking someone so I patiently waited.

"The Alpha will be here soon to deal with you." He stated not lowering down the gun.

Siting up and walked over to the puddle and drank from it.

"Remain still!" He snapped suddenly,

I looked him over and noticed that his arms were shaking. Tilting my head, I to see he was sweating.

"Must be new at this." Luna chuckler and I agreed.
