after that, the three of them talked. kaito happily made himself at home, which saihara imagined would spiral maki into a fit of anger, but it didn't. in fact, she didn't seem to care that much, only a slight irritation forming ever now and then.
the sun was setting by the time kaito decided to leave- with saihara by his side. "later, harumaki," he grinned, his hand ghosting over saihara's lower back.
noticing this (almost) contact, maki arched an eyebrow. "right. goodbye, momota."
and then kaito shut the door, and saihara began to panic a little.
oh my god. oh my god. was he insane? what was he doing with kaito momota of all people?!
"so... you wanna be a man, huh?" kaito inquired, his tone light.
saihara's pale skin tinted slightly at his words. "uh... y-yeah?" the pitch of his voice raised a little, as if asking a question, too.
chuckling, kaito nodded. "let's go, then."
the pair of them walked for a while. saihara was extremely unsure of what was about to happen- was kaito secretly planning on kidnapping him? what if this was a trap?!
no, he couldn't think like that. kaito didn't seem like a bad guy. kinda.
by the time they arrived in the rather large span of grass, the sky was dotted with stars, the lack of clouds providing a clear view.
once he noticed saihara staring at the overhead constellations, kaito grinned. "you're interested in space?" he questioned.
saihara shrugged his shoulders slightly. "i dunno. i always like the looks of it but... it's kinda terrifying," he admitted.
nodding, kaito folded his arms. "yeah, i see what you mean. when i was a kid, i wanted to be an astronaut. kinda gave up on that by the time i was 19." he stretched his arms out slightly; "well, c'mon. we didn't come here to discuss childhood fantasies, right?"
saihara was shocked when kaito tossed his dark jacket aside, leaving him in his (tight) white shirt, before he stretched a little more. "w-what are you-?"
"we're gonna train, shu!" kaito declared, his face alight with the grin stretching across it.
...shu? kaito gave him a nickname?!
praying that kaito couldn't spot the red flush coating his pale skin, saihara slipped off his charcoal jacket and began to mimic kaito's actions.
maybe... maybe the rumours truly were a lie. this time with kaito never gave saihara a bad feeling...
at least, not yet.
