The Cemetery

I stepped into the cemetery, surrounded by a bunch of beautiful marble gravestones. After Shimmer was gone, why should anything look beautiful? Huh? I looked at one of the broken gravestones and shivered. Is that how they treat old gravestones? They better not do that to Shimmer's at all...or I will... "Astrana, honey come here." said someone from behind the broken gravestone. But it was a voice I never knew but yet it was familiar. I turned around to see a old woman dressed in white. White. How can she? White is not allowed in cemetery, is it? "How do you know my name?" I asked her, surprised to see her eyes were winking every few seconds. Winking. " I know everybody's name,"she replied as if that was obvious. " Oh, right." I said, with unease.  " I knew Shimmer." the old woman said, sighing. My eyes went wide with unbelief. " You did?" I said , getting the same lump in my throat. " Oh, yes she loved you, she did." the old woman said, leaning on her walking stick. "She did?" I croaked, my tears clinging onto my skin. " What Shimmer said is true, you know?" the old woman said as she turned back towards the entrance of the cemetery."Wait!" I called out, but she just didn't listen. I glanced and saw her standing near my mother ,looking at Shimmer's grave. . I ran towards my mother. " Mom, an you tell the lady beside you that I want to talk to her?" I said , choking on my breathe. My mother turned around and said, " What lady?" My eyes became as wide as dinner plates. As I turned around to see there was no one there. " Astrana, are you feeling alright?" My mom said, her eyes full of concern. " Yeah I am... just confused," I said , feeling dazed from bewilderment on what had just happened.

Shimmer's family stood by the marble gravestone which was next to a hole, where I guess the body was gonna be put. At last, the event started. The gravediggers bought in Shimmer's body for burial. The priest muttered some prayers, but nobody could make out what he was saying. I wanted to sue the priest for not taking this burial seriously, ( my muscles worked up) but I  decided that I would talk to him in private later. Finally, Shimmer's body was buried. I was tormented and so were the rest. Especially Shimmer's family. We were mourning together and I remembered to talk to the priest. " Hey, Mr.Priest can I talk to you?" wishing I had more manners. " Yes, of course Ms. Applesville." he said, but he didn't sound so sure. I flinched. No one really had known my last name except.... Shimmer. Just Shimmer. " Why couldn't you have said the words properly? Huh?" I said , my temper rising by the minute. " I knew you would come around... But I did say the words properly, didn't I?" He said, slyly. But then something was wrong about him. The way he was smiling wasn't human like.

' I see death,

terrible death,

for the one chosen to retrieve the stars,

thee must be the one to save the stars,

or else earth will perish for eternity

He finished in some kind of trance. " Sorry, Ms. Applesville what were you saying?" He said, as if noticing me for the first time. " I'm sorry, I meant no...no...nothing." I stammered. " That's right." he said. " Intimidating, isn't he?" someone said behind me. It was the old woman. " I believe he has read the next prophecy."
