"What prophecy?" Astrana asked, confused and somewhat, frightened. " Oh, don't you know it?" the old woman said, as if she was expecting Astrana to know it. "No, I don't!" Astrana yelled at the old lady. "You have been chosen to go on a quest." the old woman replied, as if talking about the next day's schedule. "What quest? Sorry, but I don't get anything!" Astrana said, getting more creeped out by the minute. " Listen child, this is something to do with Shimmer, she said as my heart dropped onto the floor.
"Look, Shimmer is G-g-gone okay?" Astrana croaked. "How do you know?" said the old lady, her voice barely more than a whisper." And she vanished. Just gone. Astrana turned around to see the priest walking in the other direction, whistling as if nothing odd had happened.
"Honey, come on let's go!" mom called out from beside the car. " Coming, mum." Astrana said, still gazing at the spot where the old lady had vanished.
After reaching home, Astrana went to the little treehouse she and Shimmer had built last summer. Last time she had gone there with Shimmer. This time she was alone. It took her a moment to realise that Shimmer had gone, had left this world... had left Astrana.
