Bea
We were on our way to the canteen when someone hung their arm on my shoulder. For short, akbay. I wasn't really surprised because only my close friends and people I really know have the guts to do that to me without notice. I looked up to see who it was and I saw a really tall man. The sun was blinding my eyes so I really can't recognize his face.
"So ano Beatriz, hindi mo na 'ko kilala agad, ganun?" The man spoke. Only by his voice did I know who he was. It was Isaac. Yes, Isaac Go.
"Uy!! Sorry, the sun was blinding kasi so I didn't recognize you agad."
"Hay nako Bea, halika nga." And then he pulled me, to my surprise, to a hug. I hugged him back too. I admit, it had been pretty long since I got to talk to him this up-close. Of course I watch their games but mostly because of Thirdy syempre.
"Do you really miss me that bad na you're comfortable kahit na I can't breathe na??" I said. Tapping his back so that he can break the hug. "Oh, sorry sorry!" He finally broke the hug and chuckled. "Siguro nga, I really missed you that bad Isabel." And gave me another warm smile.
Isaac is my childhood friend. We basically grew up together because our parents were close themselves. They helped each other out especially when it comes to business. We went to different highschools though. He went to Xavier school and I went to Poveda. But since we got even closer as we grow up, we both decided to go to Ateneo for college. So, basically, he was one of the reasons why I went to the blue side when I originally wanted to study in the archrival of where I am now, La Salle. But note that again, he was only one of the reasons.
Isaac and I had never been romantic acquiantances. Never. Just friends, really.
"AHEM, guys..." Mich said, breaking the silence. Isaac and I faced our friend.
"...may plano pa kasi kami kumain. In case lang meron din kayo."
Oh, I remembered. We were on our way to the canteen pala to eat and talk about the birthday celebration we're planning for Thirdy.
"Oh. Yeah, may plano din naman ako. How about you?" I faced Isaac.
"Maybe I'll join you for a while but I won't eat. Just want to catch up with you." He said, then smiled again.
"You like smiling more now, ha? It's okay, you're cute." I complimented him. I saw him blush, but I didn't want to tease him. I instead grabbed his arm so we can start walking towards the canteen again.
Jho pulled me away from Isaac for a second and whispered in my ear, "Hey, did you forget? We're going to plan, diba?"
"He won't stay long. Ako bahala. Just entertain him for the meantime."
We chose a table close to the counter. "What do you guys want? Ako na o-order." I said as I stood up again right after we sat down.
"Libre mo na din?" Singit ni Ana, smirking.
"Oo nga naman Bea, mahiya ka naman kay Isaac. Akalain pa niya kuripot ka.." Dagdag ni Mich.
"Na ayaw mo gumagastos, na 'di ka naman ganun kabait saming mga magaganda mong kaibigan..." Sumbat din ni Jho. How am I even friends with these people?
"Oo na, oo na. It's my treat today. Today only." I emphasized. Sinamaan ko sila ng tingin then quickly turned to smile sweetly at Isaac. My friends, obviously, may comment na naman.
"Ay, may discrimination ka na ngayon Beatriz, ha?"
"Ito na ba pagtatapos ng pagkakaibigan natin?"
