My dad always told me that when I meet new people, I should look them in the eye and speak clearly so they understand me. And I've done exactly that every time I meet someone new. It was my first day at my new school. 11th grade, class 2-11, Mamoru Higurashi. I had to introduce myself to my new classmates and write my name on the board. I noticed, sitting in the second to last seat, row closest to the entrance door; the girl I met at the store the other day who was with her older brother. I believe her name was "Tomoko". She must have remembered me as well since she smiled and waved at me. How convenient being in the same class as her. I did what my dad taught me for a new set of people. I looked into everyone's eyes and spoke as clear as I possibly could. Introducing myself to the students and teacher. "Very good, Higurashi" says my new teacher. "Would you please write your name on the board?" I nodded, turned around and picked up the chalk. My knees were buckling a little bit and my throat felt dry. I began writing my name on the board, then I noticed I was writing in English on accident. 'Shoot!' I thought. I quickly erased it and rewrote it in Japanese. I turned and bowed, my heart was beating so fast! "Thank you, Higurashi. You can have a seat behind Honda over there." The teacher smiled and pointed to the seat in the row right next to the one Tomoko was in. I sat a few desks away from her. The class clapped for me. I was so so nervous. I sat at the desk I was assigned and heaved a heavy sigh, holding my chest. Then I got a note passed down to me. It read: "Good job, Mamoru! Awesome that we're in the same class, huh? Remember me?" I was a little bit surprised at first, but then I decided to write on the back of the note and hand it back. I said: "Yeah it is and yes I do. Hey thanks, Tomoko :)." I asked the boy in front of me, "Honda", to pass the note back to her. He did so, and after reading it, she turned around to me and smiled happily. I actually smiled back at her.--

--A few hours of lectures had passed and it was finally lunch time. My dad had made my lunch for me.  I remained in my seat, then Tomoko came over and sat in front of me. "Hey, Mamoru!" she says. "Hi, Tomoko." I reply with a slight grin. "It's nice seeing you again! Have you thought of joining any clubs here? My brother started one. Something to do with computers I think." "Well I might, but I'm not sure. I can't draw or paint or anything like that, so the art club is out. I also suck at sports so..." I look down at my bento box and pop an octopus sausage into my mouth. I felt a bit suckish since I can't really do much of anything but play games. "Hmm. I'm in the volleyball club. But you said no sports...Oh! I know! Why don't you start your own?" Tomoko claps her hands together and looks at my dumbfounded face with a wide smile. Complete with glittery eyes. "I....I don't know." I say. "I'm new here and all." "So?" she questions. "What do you like?" I'll even help you!" Well I like video games and eating, but maybe starting a club for eating wouldn't get many members. So I stuck with games "I like video games" I half whispered to her, but she caught it. "Games huh?" Well I'm no good there, but my brother is! I'll ask him to help out and I still will, too! Despite knowing nothing about them, heh. Is that cool?" She rubs the back of her neck nervously. I look at her and say "sure. It's totally cool". "Yay! Awesome!" she scarfs down the rest of her food and I look at her with a shocked yet also amused expression. 'Where does she keep it all? She's so skinny!'I thought. --

--After more lectures and one gym class that I sucked at, the day had finally come to an end. I was at my shoe locker thinking that this day actually wasn't as terrible as I thought it'd be. I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. "Hmm?" I take it out and look at the notification I had just received for Calamity Soul. 'Calamity Soul's 5th Anniversary starts in 48 hours! Don't miss it!' I read in my head. I suddenly get a huge smile on my face and say "I can't wait!" out loud by mistake. Luckily no one really heard me. I get a tap on my shoulder from...Tomoya! Tomoko's older brother! I turn and almost pass out when I see him. He's soooo cute. "Hey" he says with his hand up like a still wave. "H-hi!" I stutter. My face is hot. 'G-get a hold of yourself, Mamoru!' I think. "I'm just waiting for Tomoko to get her shoes. She's a bit slow." Tomoya looks in the direction of his sister with a tired face. "She tells me you're gonna start a club. Want some help?" He looks back at me. 'My heart....' "Yeah. P-please" I say to him. "Cool" he says. "We can start it whenever." Tomoko runs up and grabs my arm. "Hey, Mamoru! We're heading home now. Stay safe and don't forget the club!" "Heh. Okay" I say as she let's go. The siblings begin walking home. "Bye!" Tomoko shouts. "See ya." I wave at them then notice my moms red car. I run up to it then get in the front seat next to her. "Hey sweet pea! How was your first day?" I buckle my seat belt. "It was actually not that bad, mom." I tell her. "I think I might've made a friend or two already." "Sweetness. Let's get home. Dad's making curry!" she replies. "Great!" I smile. I look down at my phone and read the notification again: 'Calamity Soul's 5th Anniversary starts in 48 hours! Don't miss it!'

Author's Note: Hey yo! Sorry this chapter took so long, but I've been having a lot of brain farts. I just finished my last year of high school yesterday! I can't believe I'm about to graduate soon. It doesn't even feel real! Anyway, to those few handful of people actually reading this, I'd like to let you all know that I'll try to be quicker next time! :D:D:D
