Chapter Two - The Plane Journey

One Direction Fanfic

Safa's POV

I sat in my seat untangling my headphones. There had been a mix up with the tickets and I'd ended up on the other end of the plane to my friend Laura. I was just about to put my headphones in when i heard a familiar voice.

"Hi, is that seat 27?" i looked up and saw Liam Payne looking down at me. I nodded, speechless, and hid my blushing cheeks behind a curtain of hair. 

"Are you Liam Payne?" I asked, feeling stupid.

"Sure am babe" He replied with a smile.

"I love your music, i was just about to listen to your album." I held up my iPod to show him. I was still in shock at the fact i was speaking to a member of One Direction.

"Ah, that's cool." Then Liam turned around to face a girl i recognised as his girlfriend, Vienna.

Vienna's POV

I sat down and looked across at the girl Liam had just been talking to. She looked about my age, with black hair and tanned skin. She was clearly overwhelmed, like i was when i first met Liam. I smiled at her.

"Hey, I'm Vienna." I reached across Liam, who

had turned around to speak to Harry, and shook the girl's hand.

"I'm Safa." She replied. "You're Liam's girlfriend right?" 

"Yep, that's right." Liam turned back around, kissed my hand softltly, then started chatting to Safa, being as friendly and charming as always.

Kathryn's POV

I rumaged through my bag to find my chocolate bar. When I looked up i noticed Harry staring at me. He quickly looled away and we both blushed. There was an awkward silence between us, interupted only by the flight attendant twlling us we were about to take of. After a couple of minutes i couldn't stand it any more.

"So, how long does it take to get to Florida?" i asked in a failed attempt to make the situation less awkward. 

"Dunno, i always fall asleep on the plane." Harry said. I sort of laughed, but it was clear it wasn't a real laugh. Things had suddenly got so awkward between Harry and I. Whenever we were together we would end up blushing and sitting in silence.

"It's so awkward between us at the moment, but i don't know why." I accidentally said my thoughts out loud. Harry's cheeks flushed crimson and he looked at the floor. His fingers fumbled on the seatbeltand he undid it, quickly standing up. I was annoyed at myself for saying what i did. 

"I'm just going to the toilet." He told me and i watched him make his way down the aisle, pausing to talk to a girl, a fan presumably. 

Laura's POV

"Harry?" I exclaimed a little too loudly. My old mate Harry stopped and smiled at me. 

"Hey Laura, long time no see!" He stooped slightly so that he could speak to me easier.

"What a coincidence that you're on the same plane as me! How are things with you?" i asked. It had been a few months 

since i last saw Harry. 

" Yeah, it's been great. We're just going to Florida on holiday for a week, me and the boys. We brought some of our friends as well, i bet you'd get on great with them. Anyway, i best be off, i don't like standing up for too long on planes." Harry smiled again then carried on down the narrow aisle, pausing to sign an autograph. I'd known Harry for years, we went to primary school together for a few years. I barely saw him now he was famous though. I hoped i could catch up with him properly at the airport in America.

Lyka's POV

I hated planes. I always had and always would. They just freaked me out. Even though i knew it wouldn't, i was always worried that the plane would crash. Typically, Zayn has already fallen asleep and was leaning against me. I ran my fingers through his short dark hair. I got out my camera and took a picture of him asleep. Suddenly, i felt something squashing against my left arm. I looked across and saw Niall leaning on me, also asleep.

Abbie's POV

I laughed quietly at Zayn's girlfriend Lyka. On her right Zayn was leaning on her, and on her left was Niall.

"You look a bit squashed!" I laughed and Lyka pulled a face.

"Tell me about it!" I opened a packet of salt and vinegar crisps and offered one to Lyka, who shook her head. Niall's hand rose and grabbed a handful of crisps. He shoved them in his mouth and ate them, before starting to snore again. Lyka and i both laughed and i prodded Niall playfully.

Ella's POV

Louis was chatting excitedly to the stranger sitting next to him, so i decided to try to get some sleep. I leant my head on Louis' shoulder and closed my eyes. The plane jolted a bit, and i opened them to see the seatbelt sign flash up. I shut my eyes again, but opened them straight away when the plane jerked. The air hostess told everyone to remain calm; that it waz just turbulance. Louis stopped chatting and grabbed onto my hand. He hated planes; whenever there was a little bit of turbulance h freaked out. The plane was still jerking about, more violently now. I had a wierd feeling that the plane was descending. People around me started to panic and my heart pounded. Suddenly there was a bang and a few people screamed, Lyka loudest of all. The plane was definately going down now. The flight attendants were trying to keep everyone calm, whilst working out what was going on. A few people stood up, including Louis. Panic flashed across his face and i tried desperately to yank him back down into his seat.

"Louis! Sit down now!" I shouted urgently. But it was too late and the plane hit the ground with a crash.....
