The music was annoyingly loud and obnoxious. But I guess when you go to a bar in New Glasgow, it was guaranteed to be loud whether you like it or not. Although I was having a good time nonetheless. I think Steve was on his fifth drink, while the rest of us on our third.

"So, how's life at home?" Ash asked. I assumed she was asking how me and Andy were, so I replied, shrugging my shoulders lightly. "Let me put it this way I'm glad to be out the house for awhile." Kate chimed in how glad she was to get out the house as well. Her mostly being at home, she doesn't get out with friends as often as she should. So when Steve and Ash asked us to get together for old times sake, I couldn't refuse. And apparently neither could Kate.

Although I had a few different reasons for wanting to get out of the house. Mostly because of the stress of finding a new job to earn more money. Don't get me started on the family problems, as far as I believed I was the one people liked to rant to about others or share confidential troubles with. I don't mind one bit, to be frank I'm honoured some find me worthy enough to share there troubles and secrets with me.

But tonight I just needed to get away from everyone, and hang out with some old friends who I trained, and eventually became very good friends with. So lost in my thoughts, I almost missed this group sauntering over to us with an obvious intent to do more harm than good. I glared at them, surprising both them and me.

Steve looked over to were I was glaring, and then look back at me in surprise. He raised his eyebrows at me, while I arched one of mine right back.

The group hurried past us, obviously thinking better of what they were previously going to try. I felt my shoulders relax, and simultaneously let out a shaky breath once they were out of sight. I felt the eyes of my friends boring into me. Steve was the first to speak. "What was that about?" he sounded genuinely confused. I took a sip of my drink, feeling the alcohol warm the back of my throat.

"I don't know," I paused. "I just wasn't in the mood for some dumb asses to come over and ruin the night I guess." Feeling a little guilty now.

"I wouldn't worry about it, they didn't exactly look like the friend making types." Ash replied. "I guess we were just surprised that you of all people were the one to give someone the evil eye." Kate added.

Steve and Ash nodded, and I bobbed my head once in understanding. I thought to myself; what had come over me? I never do that unless its someone I know and I legit do not like the person. It was a weird feeling. This feeling never left even after we left the bar.

We aimlessly walked for a good twenty minutes, then Steve started stumbling slightly. So I grabbed his arm and put it over my shoulder. He grinned at me, "Thanks, I think I might have had a little to much to drink." I laughed.

"You think? Here I am, almost drunk myself, supporting an even more drunken you." That got a laugh from everyone.

"Hey guys, look." Ash pointed over to Steve and I's left. It was a store of some kind, and all the lights were on. I looked at my wrist to were I should have had a watch on. "What time is it you guys?"

Steve started laughing, while Kate pulled out her phone, clicking the side button making the screen bright. "It's 2am." I made a face, "Huh, little late for stores to open, don't you think?" "Who cares!" Steve yelled cheerfully. "Lets go in and check it out!" He stumbled to the front door pushing it open, the three of us following suit.

I felt a sense of familiarity as I walked through the door, it was one of the stores were they had just about anything there. Clothes, shoes, books and dvds of all kinds. I immediately walked over to the bookshelves. I scanned the book titles, nothing really catching my eye.
