Smith had been walking for a long time. Maybe the drive was longer then 30 minutes, she wondered. The walk sure seems long. She kept wondering whether or not she was going the right direction, but concluded that she was.
What is Mort doing right now? Did he go home, or back to the party? she couldn't get him out of her brain. He was infatuating, and that drove her insane. This journey wasn't supposed to do that to her.
