The first month of school flew by, and just like that, it was already time for Frisk's first duet in dance class. She had been partnered up with Undyne at the beginning of the month, and after the two worked their behinds off every single day, they tried numerous times to choreograph a dance that intertwined the two styles, but found that every attempt looked silly, and after demonstrating to Ms. Ashton, the dance instructor had found herself agreeing. She had soon gathered the class and announced that they were allowed to do two duets if they found that combining styles would be difficult (or nearly impossible), but had to get permission first. Frisk and Undyne were both relieved to hear the announcement, and began choreographing two separate duets.
"Hey, Undyne, do you think we could perform the Capoeira duet first? I'm kind of nervous, but I just wanna get through it and be past it..." Frisk said, walking into the changing rooms with Undyne on her left.
"Sure thing, kiddo, I'm super nervous too, but I'd rather put it off. Contemporary was a lot harder for me to learn than for you to learn capoeira. Did you bring all your shoes and outfits?" Undyne asked as she unzipped her bag after plopping it down in a nearby bench.
"Yeah, so since we're doing capoeira first, tank top and the sweat pants?" Frisk asked, and Undyne nodded, throwing in her black tank with her blue sweats. After a quick layer of deodorant, Frisk and Undyne were ready as they walked out of the girl's locker room.
"Alright, ladies and gents, we've reached the end of your first month, so I hope you are all prepared to perform your duets. For those of you who have two, you will perform your first and then prepare as you need for your second. Once everyone has done their first duets, we can begin performing second duets. Who's going first?" Instantly, a pale hand shot up from the side of the group.
"Us! My brother and I would like to perform first!" Papyrus exclaimed excitedly, the sleeve of his shirt slipping down to his elbow. Sans chuckled and slid his hands into his pockets
"Ah, good. Papyrus, Sans, you have two duets also, don't you?" Ms. Ashton asked, and Papyrus nodded.
"Yes ma'am. We will be performing my style first." Ms. Ashton nodded, and the rest of the class cleared to make space for the two brothers.
(This is the routine they perform. Papyrus is on the left and Sans is on the right)
After a round of applause, Sans and Papyrus take a bow, and Papyrus promptly scoops Sans up in a hug.
"YOU DID SO WELL BROTHER! OBVIOUSLY NOT AS WELL AS ME, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, BUT YOU WERE MOVING AS FAST AS ME AND I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!!" Papyrus looked as if he would cry, he was so happy. Sans just chuckled as his brother squeezed him tightly.
"Thanks Pap, I knew that you'd be feeling chipper after dancing the salsa with me." A few chuckles resounded through the class just as Papyrus dropped Sans on his butt, and stomped away, muttering things about bad puns and the like.
"Hey Frisk, Papyrus and Sans did pretty good, don't you think?. . . Frisk? Friiiisskk??" Undyne waved her hand in front of the shorter girl's face, and she snapped out of it, looking Undyne in the eye.
"Sorry Undyne, I spaced out a little, you said something about Sans and Papyrus?" Undyne chuckled, nodding, before restating what she had said before.
"Oh! Yeah, they did great. I was actually really surprised that Papyrus' style was the Salsa, and that he had gotten partnered up with Sans, who's style is hip hop. I can about imagine what Sans had to go through to learn that routine, it looked so complicated..." Frisk trailed off.
