At the end of the Deimopian Incident, as it later came to be known, a war that bonded even the widest fissures of distrust in alliance and fellowship, no man nor alien stood triumphant. No force walked away from that world arrogant enough to claim a victory had been achieved there. Once again, nine armies had clashed on that one world, but they were all deceived by the machinations of Chaos. Hidden by the veil of their supposed extermination, the forces of the Warp were able operate in peace without risk of being uncovered before they had attained a foothold strong enough to bite back.

In spite of the maniacal plots of the mysterious Sorcerer however, neither the Vortex Cannon nor the Stone of Farsight left the planet in Chaos hands. Their plans dashed and their dreams of dominance pulverized by orbital fire. The Sorcerer left Deimopia with only a tiny percentage of his monstrous army intact, and he would soon uncover the dark taint at the heart of his new force. The contamination of the Orks made poor Chaos Space Marines, and many of his new creations had to be purged to prevent further contamination. Nobz made excellent Khorne Berzerkers, but only the pure gene seed of the Space Marines would suffice for the armoured super-soldiers of the Black Legion.

But the Black Legion did not last long. Chaos can never be truly united, like the Gods they serve they are simply too different to coexist. In the following years, the Eye of Terror reopened, and Cadian Gate was flung wide open and pillaging warbands of Chaos spewed out into the universe. A man claiming to be Ezekyle Abaddon the Despoiler, descendant of Horus himself, emerged and took control of those willing to remain loyal to the Black Legion's colours. All over the universe new Chaos Lords emerged and took control of the vastly dissipating force as it broke down and down.

Ironically, the Sorcerer behind the resurrection was summoned to the Iron Fortress of Khorne to explain the taint in the ranks of Chaos. He never returned from that dark and terrible place.

Little is known regarding the fate of Firaeveus Carron's eternal soul. A Demon Prince can never truly be killed, only banished back into the Warp with their other demonic kin. But Carron's horrid, if ignorant, blasphemes and self-centred claims had angered the Chaos Gods beyond compare. Once again, Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle and Tzeentch combined their divine powers to define the perfect fate and punishment for such a traitor. Many who pass the planets near Galaxy's Edge have claimed to hear the eternal screams of Carron as his soul is tortured and mutilated for his betrayal. Each had met with madness at the sheer horror of such a sound.

The planet Deimopia devolved and fell back into the Warp. Before leaving the planet to its fate, the Librarians of the Imperium collected, catalogued and shipped every piece of the Vortex Cannon and Stone of Farsight to their Librarium for study and eventual destruction. This made any planned attempt to revive the weapons once inside the safety of the Warp impossible, furthering the rage of the Chaos Gods.

The newly returned Warmaster of the Black Legion renewed his deadly 13th Black Crusade, which had been interrupted by the Kaurava Conflict so many years ago. Abaddon summoned daemonic reinforcements from all four corners of the Warp and called upon the warriors of over five Chaos Legions to launch a massive invasion of Macragge, as he hunted for the head of Ultramarines Chapter Master, Marneus Calgar, at the planet's Fortress of Redemption. With the infamous Chaos Lord Vextris the Corruptor at his side, the Warmaster seems set to destroy the Ultramarines once and for all.

The forces of the Tau Empire appealed on a number of occasions, always in a peaceful manner, for the return of Commander Shadowsun and the maddened Ethereal Aun Shi Tau from the Imperial Inquisition. The Imperium, again peaceably, refused each and every plea, informing the Ethereal Caste that if the claims of the two Tau leaders were proven to be true by an independent inquiry, they would be returned to the Tau after due proceedings. This inquiry rested largely on the report of Commissar Yarrick, being the only other survivor from that war.
