JANUARY 2025: Welcome, readers old and new!
To my knowledge, Wattpad has not bettered its security when it comes to the (non-paid) stories on the site. (Please correct me if I'm wrong; this is something I'd be happy to be wrong about.) In spite of this, I have decided to post a draft of OAL on Wattpad yet again. I am not sure yet when I will be able to have OAL published, so I thought in the meantime, it would be nice for you guys to get to re-read (or new-read!) Max's story. I have left up the old author's note (see at the bottom of this chapter) for context, should any of you desire it. I may remove the old author's note (from when I took down OAL) as time progresses.
Regardless, this stands true: Once a Legend is at this time ONLY posted on Wattpad. If you happen to see it elsewhere (though I'm obviously hoping you never will), please tell me immediately, and report that site for plagiarism.
Thank you all for your support and grace and understanding in the past years. I hope you enjoy this more-updated-version of OAL.

AUGUST 2021: THIS STORY HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM WATTPAD DUE TO (OFFSITE) PLAGIARISM.
It is in my best interest as the owner of the original content to leave up something (this chapter) as evidence that this content is mine while I deal with this from an official & legal angle. I apologize to those who have discovered OAL since the plagiarism took place; I do not have control over Wattpad's algorithms and cannot control where the story appears on this site. Even though it is removed (and those in authority at Wattpad know I have removed it) I have zero control over how their algorithms work. My apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. I do not like how this situation has effected my audience or online presence any more than any of the rest of you.
I advise you NOT to seek out any of the piracy/plagiarism sites, not just for my work but for any other work. Piracy and plagiarism sites are not only morally repugnant, they are also riddled with malware and viruses and can damage your technology and online presence -- sometimes permanently.
To those who read and supported OAL before this incident, I want you to know that I appreciate your patience and support. A great number of you have been kind and gracious while I go through this ordeal, and your behavior has been both encouraging and relieving to me.
To answer some frequently asked questions:
Will OAL come back to Wattpad?
No. Before the aforementioned incident I was having people beta read the story, while I continue to edit/rewrite. I am still in that process. It is my ultimate goal that OAL be PUBLISHED.
Will OAL appear anywhere else online?
No. Websites that have pay walls and other methods of security (while more secure) also require certain contracts that I do not wish to become entangled in, because of my aforementioned goal of publishing.
Will you let us [Wattpad users] know if/when OAL is published?
OF COURSE. If and when any progress is made in the realm of publishing, I will absolutely let you know.
