Why am I even actually going to the party, is the first thought that runs through Jimin's mind as he stands in front of the body-length mirror in his room, pouting at himself.
Well maybe it's because you want to see a certain alpha.
A voice somewhere in Jimin's head sing-songs and he shakes his head furiously, trying to push that very thought out of his mind.
Nope, that's not possible, there's no way he's actually thinking about an alpha, not when he's sworn himself off of mating in this life. But... Jungkook's not any alpha. Jimin still remembers how he'd wiggled a little in that huge hoodie of his when Jimin had crouched down to get to eye-level with him.
And that was so fucking cute-
No, it wasn't.
It definitely wasn't.
Jimin presses a hand to his forehead, rubbing at his temples before he straightens himself out, eyes widening as he glances briefly at the time on his watch. He sighs, smoothing out the creases of his shirt before he pulls on his leather jacket. Jimin bends down to tug on his combat boots, pulling at the laces with practiced fingers.
Jimin fiddles carelessly with the rings on his fingers before he smooths his hands over his gelled, grey hair. He makes sure to give himself one last once-over in the mirror and steps out of the room once he's satisfied with what he sees.
"Jesus, Jimin."
He can literally hear Taehyung's jaw dropping to the ground when he struts into Taehyung's line of sight.
"What?" Jimin asks nonchalantly, trying to play down how well he's dressed.
"Are you dressed to impress or what?" Taehyung smirks at him and Jimin rolls his eyes, no, of course not Taehyung.
"Quit lying Jimin, there's no reason you'd have a velvet choker other than to look sexy and christ, are those-" Taehyung gasps, launching himself off of the couch to get a better look at Jimin's eyes, "Are those grey contacts?"
Jimin huffs impatiently, "So what? Can't I dress up for once without needing to impress any stupid old alpha?"
(read: Jungkook)
"Did I say that you were dressed to impress an alpha?" Taehyung simpers in a decidedly annoying way. He erupts into loud giggles when he catches sight of the red tips of Jimin's ears, and manages to duck in time when Jimin makes a quick swipe at his head.
"Okay you didn't but- jesus can we just get going?"
Taehyung sighs dismissively, "Patience seems to elude you at the best of times, young omega."
"Christ, Taehyung, you're younger than me by a few months."
"But I got mated first. So technically, I have a higher position compared to you."
"Don't oversell yourself, sweetheart. You're only half-mated," Jimin clicks his tongue dismissively.
Taehyung huffs, trinklets on his wrist trinkling as he bends down to search for his leather and fur slides under Jimin's watchful eye.
"Whatever. At least I'm half."

The block's bustling with life as Jimin and Taehyung approach, the bright lights emanating from it a vivid contrast to the dark sky. Even though they're still a few blocks away, Jimin can already hear the cheers being chanted by Minhyuk's rambunctious frat mates. He can only imagine the amount of alcohol that's being chugged down right this second.
