Big Move

Alex's POV:
Ugh.. today's the day if the move to Toronto.. I'm currently at Ruby's house to say goodbye.
"I'm gunna m-miss you so much.." Ruby claims as she starts to cry
"Don't cry Rub, I'll come back and you aren't losing me" I whisper, holding her close to me and rubbing her back gently
"I-I know but you're going to be s-so far... it's t-twelve h-hours away.."
"Hey, hey, look at me."
Ruby gently sat up and looks me in the eye, with tears running down her cheeks. I look the sleeve of my hoodie and wiped them away
"Listen, I may be 12 hours away, and so so many miles away, but you'll always be my best friend. I promise that I'll come back to visit whenever possible. I'll text you every day and we'll skype call every other. Okay?"
"O-okay.."
I leaned over and kissed her forehead then stood up from her couch.
"I gotta go home now and pack up my boxes into the moving truck" I say gently and tears started streaming down from my cheeks, Ruby jumped up and wrapped her arms around my neck, balling into my shoulder.
I rubbed her back again, then hugged her back, through the hot tears streaming from my eyes I muttered
"I'm going to miss you so much"
She let me go and I started walking towards the door, Ruby following, we hugged once more then I started walking out
I turned around and said "see you soon" with a gentle smile, and without  turning back I walked away.
**** 10 minutes later ****
I had stopped crying, and walked into my house.. no, my home.. this place is my home. I grew up here, I'm gunna miss it so much.
The walls aren't as bright as thales used to be, they're a dull, nude colour, nothing is around, just boxes. Boxes filled with everything.
My mum walked into the front room, distracting me from me sad trance.
"Hey Alex, are you ready?"
"Yeah, I just have to load up my boxes."
"Already done, Billie and I loaded them up while you were with Ruby."
"Oh.. thanks mum"
"How do you feel"
Sad.. I feel sad mum, your making me leave my childhood home, the city I grew up in, my best fucking friend.
"I'm okay"
"Alright, go up to your room to make sure nothing left up there okay?"
"Okay"
And with that I walked into the living room, then the kitchen, and up the stairs, the wooden stairs with a strip of carpet.
<flash back>
"BILLIE COME ON!!"
8 year old Alex was on his butt, ready to slide down the newly carpeted stairs
"I'M COMING ALEX CALM DOWNNN" his 4 year old sister yelled back
"OKAY WELL I'M GOING WITHOUT YOU!!!"
And with that Alex flipped onto his tummy and started sliding down, giving himself a bright read tummy, as his shirt got pulled up by the carpet (** AN: I actually used to do this when I was a kid with my lil bro, it was so fun **)
Bright, happy Billie followed her big brothers lead, giving herself an equally bright tummy. As she got to the bottom she turned to Alex and they giggled.
"Hehe, that was fun" Alex said with a big smile on his face
"Yeah!!"
<flash back over>
I sighed once more, walking into my old room and I scanned it... nothing.
And with that, I walked back downstairs, and out if the house.
My mum waved me over and I climbed into the front seat..
She started the engine and we drove away, never to see our house again.
