Later that week max's parents arrived on campus.
They spoke with the principle for at least on hour! after there was an announcement. "lilly and chloe to the principles office now please!" chris looked at me in confusion.
I met chloe in the hallway looking red. "do you think they know?" chloe spoke in a low tone. Her eyes filled with tears.
With every step that they took to towards the principles office her heart sunk deeper and deeper and deeper. lilly pushed open the door to find Max's parents sitting paitently holding hands. Both with a tissue. "please have a seat." the principle pointed to two chairs at the back of the pale office.
"chloe, lilly these are Max's parents" they shake their hands. "we wanted to say sorry!"
"what for?" chloe replied
" i know you two and max were good friends, so i want you to attend his funeral if thats okay with you?"
"that would be a pleasure, thank you!" lilly replied.A couple of days later they attended Max's funeral, they said their goodbyes and watched the funeral from the back of the room as lilly knew it was her fault.
After the service lilly said goodbye as chloe was getting a lift back to school.
As lilly was about to walk away chris's hand grabbed lilly's suddenly. "you made me jump!" lilly squeeled.
"we need to talk about what happend the other week with max!"
"your hurting me! and i don't want to! it was a mistake!" she shouted in frustration.
"well your going to have to talk about it because if you don't i carn't protect you!" lilly slides her wrist free from his grasp and takes a deep breath. "look the shadows did it"
"does chloe know about this!?"
"no"
"good come with me" lilly didn't say anything.chris took her to the woods were there was a flower patch.
"what's this?" she asked
"i also lost my friend."
"how?" he shows a near by bench and tells lilly to take a seat and he begins.
