Okay, before this chapter begins let me just say this in case you haven't heard this before so you're not confuzzled: Daughter used to be called Brother and in the chorus he would sing 'Don't call me brother' instead of daughter. So that's why it'll have those lyrics in it. Also, if you've seen Pearl Jam Twenty I modeled the beginning part of the chapter after when they're playing Daughter on the bus in '92, so yeah, if the beginning seems a little weird then whatever, I was just trying to model it after an actual event that happened in my own words. Okay I've taken up enough of your time, just read the fuckin chapter now :)

"Hey, I think I figured out the theory behind that. I always felt like I played one too many, you know?" I say, and I strum the guitar to show Eddie what I was talking about. He nods his head.
"Yeah, yeah, let's try that one more time", he says and as I start playing Mike comes up and tapes us. I look at Eddie for a split second and his head is down towards the kitchen table, his hair covering his face, and he's nodding to the beat of my guitar playing.
Alone, listless, breakfast table in an otherwise empty room.
Young boy, violence, center of his own attention.
The mother reads aloud, child tries to understand it, tries to make her proud. His beautiful voice fills the bus. It sounds amazing along with the chords I'm playing, they go perfectly together. I see Eddie smile and wave out the window quickly, and turn to the window behind me to see people in a car waving at us. I smirk as Eddie starts singing the chorus.

Don't call me...I catch myself looking at Eddie again, at his brilliant blue eyes, and I get absorbed into them. I stumble on a chord but find my fingers again.
Don't call me...
Don't call me...
Don't call me...As Eddie sings he picks up a marker and writes on his hand. As he turns his hand and shows it to the camera Mike is still holding I catch a glimpse of it. 'Don't call me' is what it says.
"Hey Mikey, how'd that sound?" Eddie asks once we've wrapped up the song.
"Fuckin' great. Sounds like you guys don't need us anymore", he says with a grin. Then he walks away from us and over to the couch where Dave and Jeff are sitting. I pluck at my strings for a little bit, occasionally looking up to see Eddie staring out the window.
Eventually Jeff passes by us to go to the bathroom and I start to hear giggling coming from the living room. I glance past Eddie's head to see Mike and Dave being all cutesy together. Oh my God, are they fucking dating? I kick Eddie's leg and when he looks up I point at Dave and Mike. His eyes widen at the sight of the new couple.
I look back over at them and Dave starts tickling Mike. What the fuck...
Me and Eddie both stare at them silently with wide eyes. "Eddie, do something!" I whisper, pointing to the couple.
"Like what?"
"I don't know, just...get them to stop their fucking PDA." He looks back and then his eyes go back to me. Then he turns his head slightly so he's not looking either direction, and says, "Ahem." Mike and Dave look up and freeze in their positions.
"Uhh..." Mike utters. We all just stare.
"Are you guys a couple?" Eddie asks a few seconds later, his voice even. I don't think Mike can tell if he's grossed out or not, and I can't really either.
