"Your worthless!" my father words kept ringing through my head as I ran out of my house. Every day it was something new. My father would constantly abuse verbally. He would call me horrible names and tell me how much he hated me.
Right now your probably wondering where my mother is and why she would even marry a terrible man like my father. Well, she died 4 month ago from brain cancer. Before my mom died my father and I were really close and we would even go jogging and bike riding together. However after my mom died he freaked out and went a little crazy.
He moved us to London, England hoping to get a fresh start but if anything I think it made his loss harder. He now spends half of his time away on trips for his business and the other half being drunk and sulking in his office.
When he's drunk is usually yells at me. I know when your parent acts like this your supposed to call child services or the police but i'm scared that they might take me away.
I know i probably sound crazy for wanting to stay with my father but i'm guessing that a part of me stil has hope that he might return back to his old self.
I have been running for awhile now so I decide to stop and try to collect myself. I spied a bench across the street so i quickly went to go sit down on it.
I tried to calm myself down but then I saw a mom with her daughter across the street and immediately burst into tears again. I missed my mom so much.
We were really close and would always play outside together or go shopping. Even though she was my mom I treated her like my friend.
After about 5 minutes of sitting on the bench crying to myself I heard someone walking towards me. I looked up to se a middle-aged woman coe and sit down next to me. "Are you okay?" she asked me with concered eyes.
"Um.. yeah." I bit my lip not really wanting the woman to know what was wrong. She sensed my hesitation but continued to press on. "Are you sure? You look really sad."
I looked up and studied her. She had brown curly hair and was actually very pretty for her age. Her big brown eyes were filled with concern, sympathy, and compassion.
I don't know what it was about this woman but she kinda reminded me about my mother. Even though she was a complete stranger i decided to trust her.
"Well, I.. I.." i couldn't finsh though before I bursted into tears once more. She quickly sat down and pulled me into her arms.
"SShhhh, shh It's alright, everything is going to be alright," she murmured to me. She continued to just hold me while making soothing sounds and rubbing my back for until I had run out of tears.
She then let go of me and asked, "Would you like to come to my house so we can chat over some tea?"
Wow, this lady just asked me to come to her house and I have only met her now for ten minutes. I don't even know her name. For all I know she could be some crazy serial killer on the most wanted criminals list.
However, I really wanted someone to talk. "Sure that would be great," I told her.
"Okay, I just live around the corner," she chirped before pulling me up and starting to walk away. I quickly followed her and after about walking for 5 minutes I heard her say, "Well this is it."
I looked up and was was amazed at the sight. Where she lived was more like a mansion. It was three stories tall and had a huge porch that wrapped around the front part of it.
"Wow, nice place," I complimented her as she unlocked the door. "Thanks, I just moved here a few months ago."
Inside the house was just as nice as the outside. There was a grand staircase to the right when you walked in and then a huge kitchen to the left with all new appliances. "I'm Anne by the way," she told me.
"Cool, nice to meet you. I'm ariana." Anne smiled and nodded at my answer. "Here, lets go into the living room."
Anne led me through the kitchen and into a cozy room with a couch and other comfy chairs to sit on. "I'll be right back. How would you like your tea?" she asked.
"I'll take two sugars, please." Anne nodded and walked to the kitchen to prepare the tea. While I was waiting I turned to look at the flat screen TV that was on the wall. The TV was turned on to a news channel but the volume was turned off.
They were doing an interview on One Direction right now. The hostess said something with a fake smile plastered on here face causing the crowd and the 5 band members to laugh.
"Are you directioner?" Anne voice came from behind me making me jump. Wait did she just say directioner? Like a person who directs traffic? "Um.. no. What's a directioner?"
"Oh, a directioner is what One direction calls their fans," she informed me.
"Ahh, I get it and that would be a no," I told her.
"Really? So you don't like them?" she asked. Wow is it me or did this lady seem to be offended when I said I wasn't a directioner. "No I like them, I mean I like their music but i'm not some crazed fan who obsesses over them and stalks their twitter. "Oh, I see what you meant," she said with an understanding look on her face.
Anne came and handed me a cup of tea then went to go sit in a chair across from me. "So," she asked. "Do yo want to talk about anything with me? I'm a great listener and I won't tell anyone if you don't want me to."
I looked up at her and something that was in her eyes just told me that she really wouldn't tell anyone about my father. I knew I could trust her so I began to tell her everything from point to when my mom died to running into her today on the bench.
She was right, she was a great listener. Anne would nod her head ever so often when I said something and she never interupted me once which I was very thankful for.
It took me awhile to explain my whole story but when I was done Anne was looking like she was ready to cry. "I'm so sorry" she told me and thn proceded to come and wrapped her arms around my torso engulfing me into a hug. Her body was warm and comforting, it reminded me a lot like one of my mother's hugs.
We stayed like that for awhile in each others arms until I decided to pull away. "Um, this is kinda rude but can I stay here tonight because I really don't want to go back home right now."
She looked at me for a second before opening her mouth,"Ofcourse, you can sleep in the guest room."
She got out form her chair to show me the guest room. It was upstairs and across the hall from her room. "I'll go get you something to wear to bed," she told me getting up and going across the hall to her room.
She came back a couple of minutes later handing me a pair of shorts and a baggy shirt. When I looked at them closer I realized that they were men's clothing. "These are my son's clothes. He's away right now," she said when I looked at them confused. "Oh okay goodnight Anne."
"Good night Ariana," she said with a smile as she hugged me.
"Oh, and Anne," I said just as she was about to leave.
"Yeah?" she turned around.
"Thank you." She nodded and then left to go to her room. After the way this day went I was very tired. I quickly turned the light off and crawled into bed letting sleep overcome me.
