"Thanks Aaron, it was nice hanging out with you" I say, heat seeping up my neck to my cheeks.

"Ya, it was nice" Aaron replied, his cheeks also covered in a tinge of pink.

"Well, I'm sorry, but Katelyn's gonna yell at me if I'm not back soon so...."

"No, its fine, good night Aph"

"Good night Aaron" I respond, opening the door to my house, almost ramming into the door.

Ugh I hate this......

Why does everything must suck this massively?

This is all too much.

I can't possibly leave this world too.....

That's because those are all spirits, all people who have gone to heaven.

Halfway into the house, I turn back around, heading outside for a split second so I could see the star speckled sky.

"Aphmau!" Katelyn shouts, her voice dead serious.

I swivel my head so fast to Katelyn that a migraine develops in my head.

What.....

Does she know.....

"What Katelyn?" I ask, my voice as calm as I could make it to be.

"Is there something that you want to tell me?" She asks, her face showing definitive rage.

"Depends on what you know" I take a deep breath, trying to make my posture confident.

"Depends on what I know?! Please tell me, what do I not know?" 

I drop my head, slowly, my hair covering my face

"Aphmau....." Her tone changing from a mad one to a concerned one.

I'm silent, grimacing.

"Please........tell me what's going on...." Her voice surprisingly breaking

I'm still silent, looking away from her.

"Please tell me I'm not losing you....."

I raise my head, biting my lip.

"You know?" My voice also breaking.

"Oh no..." Katelyn collapses on the ground, bringing her hands up to her face to try and stop her sobbing.

"Oh Katelyn..." I come over to her, wrapping my arms around her, bringing her into a hug.

She sobs loudly into my shoulder.

"Why.....didn't you....tell anyone......you have the cancer too..?" She asks, between sobs.

"I didn't want to tell anyone, tell me honestly, would you?" 

"Yeah, you got a point."

"See? I didn't even want to tell you...."

"Aphmau?"

"Ya?"

"Can it be treated?"

"No...."

"Wait what?" She pulls away from me, absolute horror on her face.

"Chemo? Radiation? Clinical Trials?"

"I don't want them......"

"What? Aphmau what's wrong? This isn't like you...."

"Katelyn all I've felt is pain for the past year, and it may seem like I recovered but I haven't...."

"Aphmau, the pain doesn't just end when you go, it only ends when you have done everything you possibly can, and I'm not letting you give up"

"Katelyn?"

She sniffles, then speaks.

"You aren't giving up, not till I say you can"

I sigh, shaking my head slightly.

"This isn't your end Aphmau...."

"This is your beginning"
