James Grant Rogers sat in the midst of a sea of people surrounding him. His father, Steve, and his mother, Ash, by his side. Though the Avengers had broken up and retired long ago, the fame of the superhero team still fled around. His father, now weak but still strong, held the same patriotic spirit. He continued along with his faith and hope, but sometimes his wife got tired of the same old, same old. She held her firey spirit, even if she had grown older.

"Steve, I don't see the point in the fame. We're not doing anything. What's the point?" She grumbled, holding her husband's hand tightly as they made their way through the crowd, only stopping for pictures or autographs.

"Honey, they're just being nice. We have saved the world, I don't know, at least a dozen times. I think it's nice they show a little respect." Steve said, holding Ash's hand and using his other to put it on James's shoulder to direct him through the crowd.

"It doesn't feel right to me. We're not doing anything at the moment, so why do we deserve this fame? I want to be out there doing something, not laying around signing autographs and taking pictures." She said, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.

James looked back at his parents once they had finally reached through the crowd and walking down the cold, winter streets of New York. "Don't worry Mom, one day, I'm gonna do something that's gonna make the fame worth it." He promised, his famous "Golden Boy smile" plastered onto his face.

Ash smiled and reached over and kissed her son's cheek. "I'm sure you will, James. I'm absolutely sure you will."

Sebastian Barnes blared music from his phone as he sat in his room. He bobbed his head, his head going back and forth as his music echoed throughout the house. Bucky sat at the dining table, his metal fingers tapping against the wooden table. "Lilly, if he doesn't turn off that music-"

Lilly rolled her eyes, before handing Bucky a coffee. "Oh hush, James. He's a teenager, it's what they do." She said and Bucky chuckled softly. "How did I get married to someone that I can't argue with because they're so smart?" He asked, a teasing tone in his voice. Lilly chuckled softly, kissing his cheek. "I have no idea."

"Ew! Get a room, please!"

Lilly and Bucky turned to see William, their youngest son, standing at the end of the stairs, his laptop bag hanging over his shoulder and a grossed-out look upon his face as he watched his parents embrace. Bucky chuckled softly and Lilly rolled her eyes playfully but smiled.

"Good morning to you too, Billy." Lilly chuckled, walking over and pecking the top of her son's forehead before ruffling his hair. William groaned, fixing up the hair that he had freshly gelled. "Moooom, I told you not to do that!" He whined.

Lilly chuckled softly, kissing his forehead. "Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. Cool." She teased, heading back over to the dining table, where all of her blueprints for her new inventions were laid across.

"Son, can you go ask your brother to turn down the music?" Bucky asked, looking over at William. William nodded. "Yes, sir." He nodded at his father, then walked back up the stairs to his brother's room.

"To think, they might be the heroes of the world one day." Lilly chuckled softly, sitting down across from Bucky and looking over her blueprints. Bucky looked up at her and frowned. "Lil, I thought I told you about that stuff. Sebastian and William deserve a better life than the superhero life. Sebastian can grow up and become an amazing athlete, and William can be an amazing computer scientist. They deserve to live a life where they don't have to be afraid of villains chasing them and fighting the bad guys."
