The buzzing sound of the alarm startled a young brunette from her sleep. She moaned and ran her fingers through her hair, matting down her bed head. She sat up in bed, knowing that the bedside next to her would be neat, and unmade. Just like its always been for five years. She stands up and quickly changes into her dress pants, white blouse, and black jacket. She goes into the bathroom to brush her teeth and hair. She quickly puts on coverup make-up and rushes out the door of her apartment. She hangs onto the railing of the front steps and sighs in the cold, dry air of Winter. She sees her breath float in the air and she looks to her left, seeing a familiar figure walking down the icy sidewalk, just like he always does every morning at this time. He had shaggy hair with kind, huge brown eyes and a big brain. He had a scrawny neck and a slim body shape. He was looking down at a book as he walked, his eyes skimming through the page quickly and turning to the next page, his glasses reflecting the sunlight. Detective Meghan Ross smiled and walked down the stairs to the sidewalk, just as the man in glasses passed next to her.

"Hey Spence."

Besides JJ, Meghan was the only person in the world who called him that. Doctor (Agent) Spencer Reid looked up from his book and smiled.

"Meggie! Hi, did you know that when Albert Einstein was a child he wanted to grow up and be an actor? But when he became a scientist, he secretly would work on a script so he could become a director instead, also of course making inventions and mathematics at the same time."

"I did not know that." Meghan said with a smile, slightly interested when he mentioned acting, since she dreamed in becoming one too. Spencer knew that, and that's why he mentioned it. He always wanted to impress her.

"And did you know that when I moved here, I made sure I moved next to a coffee shop?" Meghan winked.

Spencer, completely unaware, shook his head with a curious/innocent look, making his friend laugh. She and him have known each other since Meghan joined the FBI three years ago. They lived down the street from each other and in the morning when they would go to work, they would meet on the sidewalk and have morning coffee together. They never thought that would change in a week, all because of one case...
