"Here we are, Wamberly Hall. The one and only." Bentham the butler explained.
Our group was around eight. We had Chris, the smart guy, Lora, the sarcastic one, Jake, the joker, Bridgette, the engineer, James, the party kid, Sierra, the nice one, Ben, the sporty one and me, the weird and kind one.
We were all invited to a dinner party by Bentham, the butler, he told us we were all invited because the previous owner of Wamberly Hall said we needed to come here once he died on this exact date, and as soon as he died Bentham went on the hunt for us."Now, come in, dinner is on its way!" Bentham said as he lead us into the estate. The place looked like it was out of a Disney movie, everything looked like it had been plated with gold or diamonds and beautiful 1920s esc furniture filled each room. We all felt very underdressed to be apart of such a beautiful estate. We were lead through many rooms until we got to the dining hall. There was a huge fireplace with an even larger painting of the previous owner on top of it, his beady eyes watched our every move.
"I hate this place already." Lora said as we explored the room. "Same here." Chris said. "Well we should still make the most of this, who knows, this night could turn out to be way better than we expected!" Sierra added. "It's kind of creepy, but it also looks really magical!" I said, trying to lift Lora's spirits. "It looks more like it's out of a horror movie of you ask me." James said plainly. "James, that's not helping!" Bridgette said annoyed. "He's just saying the truth." Ben said taking James's side.
Bridgette sighed annoyingly. "Well, you tried your best." Jake said to her. Before the argument could continue, Bentham walked into the room. "Before we eat, you must all change, you look hideous in your modern attire." He said truthfully. "I would like to keep my normal clothes on thank you very much." Lora said. "You must change, otherwise the dinner can't continue." Bentham said. "Well it looks like your dinner is cancelled then." Lora said standing up out of her leather seat. "I will be leaving now." She said as she strolled up to the door. We all sighed, annoyed at Lora's stubbornness. Lora walked up to the front door and tried to open it, it wouldn't budge. "It's locked." She said. "Well then that means you're staying here and getting changed!" Bentham said angrily. Lora didn't say anything else, she just walked back to her leather chair and sat.
It was a little bit distressing that the doors were locked, but none of us thunk too much about it, so I just wiped it out of my mind. One by one, Bentham called us up with clothes that looked like they were made 70 years ago. I was called second last, just behind Lora, I walked up, grabbed my clothes and walked over to a bathroom to change in. The bathroom looked very different to the other rooms, instead of looking all fancy and rich, it looked run down and rusty. It felt very eery and I was pleased when I got out of there.
My clothes were big and over the top. I had a huge teal dress, covered in a yellow flower pattern with some black high hells. I wore at least ten different types of necklaces and bracelets, each with a unique design and feel. I wore what looked like a diamond headpiece with some pearl chains hanging over it. I really felt like I had been transported to the 1920s.
When I came back into the dining room everyone else was waiting for me, with similar looking clothes with their own personal twist. "Wow, you look awesome." Chris said. "And very fashionable!" Bridgette added. "Thanks guys." I said as I walked over to sit with them. "So, Tara, I really get these messed up vibes when I'm here. I really think Bentham is hiding something from us." Jake told me. I nodded in agreement. Jake continued, "Also, I saw this thing, it was a-" "Dinner is served!" Bentham said loudly as he walked into the room once again. "And might I add, your clothes all look much better!" We all fake smiled and followed Bentham over to the dining table. Jake gave Bentham a bit of a stare, but Bentham looked away.
