Kenzou looked at the man crouching down in front of him. The man was much taller than him and could easily pin him down. In his human form, that is.
"Now, son. I would like to ask you a few questions."
Kenzou nodded sadly.
"Did they hurt you at all?"
Kenzou remembered to when they made him go deaf, everything was hurting. Everything was in pain. He still didn't know why they did it. He also remembered to when he was first caught smoking by the twins and one of them shook him back and forth, hurting his weak body. They had hurt him sometimes, but he was pretty sure they didn't mean to.
He nodded his head gently.
The man took notice of the bandaid on the boy's face and noted it.
"Did you eat anything?"
Kenzou knew that he barely accepted anything that they wanted to offer. He barely ate. His mother wouldn't allow it. He looked down at his hands.
He shook his head.
"How did they treat you?"
"Very well. They made me feel loved, more than my step-mother ever did. They were kind to me, so I don't understand why you had to take them away from me." He glared up at the man, feeling weird for defending somebody.
"They stole you from a hospital-"
"It wasn't against my will!"
"Were you completely aware of it happening?"
Kenzou's eyes widened. He remembered laying in the hospital bed before his mother walked in. She had told him they were going home, he refused. She hit him and he hung his head. She was about to drag him out but then something in him had snapped, he screamed as a Banshee. But of course he never knew that. He screamed loudly that it had hurt his throat and he had blood running down his chin. Then he remembered Evan and Ethan rushing in as his Mother disappeared. He was scared and confused. He guess, he only went with them because he didn't want to be alone. It took him a while to learn that they wanted to help him, they were kind and they didn't become angry at him a lot of the time.
But because of his mates, somebody.... somebody important to him had left. He really liked them, he loved them lots. They loved him back. But then.. because of the pack, they had left. It was their fault that this person he enjoyed the company of had left.
"No... My mother tried to drag me out of the hospital room and then they showed up. I didn't know what was going on, I was scared.. a-and I was confused. I took their hand and then when I opened my eyes, I was inside the big house over there." He pointed a shaky finger to the pack mansion.
"Yes, understandable, but you need to listen. They kidnapped a minor from someplace and kept him hidden in a house."
"They were just trying to protect me!" Kenzou argued, more awake than he was earlier.
"Do you believe that?"
Kenzou froze at those words. If he thought about it, they kidnapped him, he didn't eat, he was yelled at by the twins when they saw him first smoking instead of being sat down to talk about it, they didn't tell him for two weeks of what he was, they made him go deaf, and they fought because of him; they didn't want him.
Kenou's eyes were the size of pinpricks. Somehow, this man made him believe things that he didn't want to. The man made him think differently than what he wanted. This man made him question his own opinions and choices with a straight face.
Kenzou looked back down.
"I'm not entirely sure. But they're good people-"
"Perhaps they made you think that?"
"I wasn't brainwashed!" He was suddenly out of breath. He slumped against the wall of the ambulance and sat there as he breathed heavily.
"I apologise. I don't want to pressure you into thinking that I'm trying to make it seem like you're at fault here, but I need to know: what happened?"
"I... don't know. I couldn't hear anything for two weeks."
"Please explain. What do you mean?"
"Nothing. I don't know what I'm saying."
His mouth formed a thin line. "I guess you are tired. We'll take you to the police station and we'll call your step-mother in."
"NO!" The younger yelled. "Uhm, no. I don't want her to pick me up.."
"Why not?"
Kenzou stayed silent after that.
"Son, if there's something going on at home, you need to tell me."
"She'll just be very worried about me in front of a bunch of people, is all. She'll be a crying mess. It won't be pretty."
"Ah, a teenagers' worst nightmare. Over-affectionate parents. Huh?"
Kenzou chuckled and scratched his un bandaged cheek lightly.
"Yeah."
Kenzou climbed in the police car and they went to the police station.
...
When they arrived, Kenzou was bombarded with news reporters and cameras.
"Uhm..." He looked at the police officer for assistance. The man helped Kenzou walk inside.
"News spread fa-"
"KENZOU!!" A happy cry came from the doorway. He saw his step-mother. She stood there with tears on her dace. Kenzou was right, it really was an ungodly sight.
"Mother..." He looked at the floor.
"Oh sweetie! Where did you go?? Of course that doesn't matter- you're back, you're home, you're safe!!" Kenzou still had the blanket over his shoulders. It was a complete fucking mystery to him how the policeman hasn't said anything about his scales.
Kenzou's step-mother hugged him tight and after nearly an hour of something that Kenzou was too distraught to remember, they walked outside, Kenzou not caring about the cameras any longer. He sat down in the back seat and put on his seat belt.
Nothing was said the whole way home.
Okay, so there will be about 2 or 3 more chapters left. I will edit all of the chapters once I am done.
