Dear Diary,
If ever I had doubted magic, those doubts have completely disappeared.
Hermione took me to this place called Diagon Ally. A place that's hidden behind this brick wall in a..."muggle "cavern(trying to hat use to that word)
This is the place where we find magical items.
When I first entered it was like breathing air for the first time. I felt, more then I saw, the magic around me.
Their were several people down the street; all dressed in funny apparel, but I felt more out of place then, being the only one wearing what I considered normal attire. Maybe I was the one considered"odd"or"standing out"
First we went to this bank called Gringotts where Hermione had me put wizard money(of which they call"galleons")that my mom scrounged together to help me start an account and get the supplies I need. The whole place is run by these small people with pointed ears and vacant expressions called goblins. They act kinda strange;like rude and a bit arrogant. But fascinating all the same.
Afterward we went to get me fitted for school robes. And then Hermione helped me find the books I required such as A History of Magic, by Bathilda Bagshot, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, by Newt Scamander and many, many others.
And last we went to get me a wand. The man there was very kind as he helped me find one. Though they all looked the same to me he said that every wand was is different. Each wand he handed to me he said to flick, and every time nothing happened no matter how hard I tried. Finally the last one shot a single spark of light. I thought I had done something but the wand keeper doubted letting me use it. Until he at last said"It's better then nothing"
I'm not sure how to take what he said.
I soon forgot about it though when Hermione surprised me with a gift. A pet owl! She told me that the wizarding world uses them for writing letters and stuff. How cool!
Well, I named her Frederick. Yes I mean her. I thought she was a boy at first but when Hermione told me I laughed and said"I'll keep it anyway it sounds fitting"
That was about we did today. Though it lasted from morning till late evening it only felt a few short hours. I ambecoming more and more excited about going to Hogwarts. I absolutely cannot wait to learn about magic!
