Dear Diary,
I didn't sleep much at all last night. Excitement flooded my thoughts. When I wasn't paying attention I found my eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling.
I got up when the sun rose. I dressed into my Hufflepuff robes and braided my hair. I wanted to look good for my first day.
Breakfast was just as elegant and amazing as supper had been the night before. I was the first to enter the great hall, and so I watched as students crowded into the hall. No one sat with me though... I decided not to let it bother me.
My classes today were more amazing then I thought they would be.
They consisted of the following...
Transfiguration: a class that teaches us how to transform one object magically into another. The woman who came to my door, Professor Mconagal, was the teacher. I find the study a little bit hard to understand, but I think I'll get the hang of it soon.
History of Magic: a subject I find very interesting opposed to what most think of it. I find it fascinating. And I can't wait to learn more about magical history!!!
Charms: it's similar to to transfiguration but I have a feeling I'll get the hang of it soon.
Potions: a class I found very easy to understand. And the teacher Professor Slughorn is very kind and fun to listen to.
I'll have to admit that magic isn't exactly what I thought it would be. It's harder to practice and it's not all fun and games.
But I still think it's amazing all the same.
Can you believe they actually gave me homework on my first day? I'll have to be going now so that I can finish it.
I think my first day went pretty well. I'm eager to learn more as the weak continues.
