November winds are getting colder by the day. I do walks around the neighborhood here and there to see what's new. When my mother was around, we would give flowers to neighbors and compliment their homes. She's no longer here so and everyone knows that.
I try not to show my guilt and sadness as I walk around alone. I feel neighbors glare at me with pity in their eyes. I want to get back on my happy side. I want to show everyone I can live alone - with maybe 100 cats and dogs.
I know my mother will never come back. She left an impact on the neighborhood. Everyone was her friend- her best friend. We would always have visitors and complimentary cakes from them. I always played with their pets if any.
"Hey there!" A young man calls.
They slowly drive behind me. "Hey! Aren't you that nice lady's daughter?" His friend asks.
I stop in my tracks, "Mrs. Smith?" I ask.
"Yeah! Hey dawg, she's the lady's daughter!" He punches the driver's arm.
"Oh! Sorry ma'am. Hope you find closure. Your mother really helped up." He apologizes.
I feel tears swelling up my eyes, "Oh thanks. No harm done." They notice my sadness.
"Oh! I'm sorry! We should go." The two ride away.
I have tears running down my face now. I start to softly whimper and try to stay silent before anyone can notice. I decide to run home. I never want to walk out again. I only belong in my backyard with flowers.
I hear a voice, "Hey Jay!" As I try to open my door. My hot tears pour down my cheeks blurring my vision before I can get my keys out.
"Jay? Are you crying?" Graser asks. I feel a hand touch my shoulder and I jerk away. I finally open my door and storm inside slamming my door after me.
Did Graser just touch me? My thoughts begin to rush as I cry in my living room. Did he try to help me? My tears slow down as I take deep breaths.
"Jay! Just count to 10!" I yell to myself. I slowly start. "one...two...three...four...five" Each number exhaling a deep breath from before.
I close my eyes and hum, "Six." I hug myself and take a deep breath. "Seven... eight..." I feel my mind slowing down and my thoughts hushing. "Nine."
Thud
I open my eyes to see a rock sitting against my glass door. I quickly get up to check it. I slide the door open and pick up the small rock. A note is taped to it.
I read out, "Jay, I hope you feel better. Just ask if you need Shadow. Just PM me on Twitter. Sign, Graser," I smile softly.
"Ten." I walk out to see Shadow climbing over the fence.
"Graser?" I call.
I hear leaves crushing, "Yeah?"
"Sorry about my reaction. I just needed a moment." I apologize.
Graser brightly says, "Oh no big deal! I was just extremely worried about you! I could hear your crying inside. Are you okay now?"
I take a deep breath. "Yeah. It's just my mother."
"Oh I'm sorry. I hope you feel great later. How about I upload a funny video today on Cube just for you!" He asks.
Must be his gaming thing or something. I think.
"Whatever makes you feel satisfied." I rub my eyes.
"Okay. Hey, do you have a computer?" He asks me.
