MADLY IN LOVE

CHAPTER 13

When Jayant saw Bassanio appear in the clearing , he left Nomita at once , braced himself and stood up brushing the dust from his clothes .He choked out ," Your girlfriend was alone so I thought to escort her to the hostel ."Bassanio came up to him taking long strides and took him by the collar , anger flushing  his face ,"escorting ? Huh? I always knew you but never thought that you were capable of committing such an act . You ****."Bassanio then punched him in the face thrice, hit him without even giving a chance to Jayant to resist or fight back and then shoved him till he was on the verge of being unconscious . Bassanio then reached up to Nomita who was standing at a distance trying to take in what she was seeing. Bassanio placed his hands on her shoulder comforting her and it was then only she realized that she was trembling . He said plaintively ," I'll drive you", then supporting her took her to his car . While Bassanio was driving ,  Nomita realized that she has to thank Bassanio so she said haltingly ,"I forgot to thank you ", to which Bassanio replied ," Don't thank me  . You were lucky I was passing that way and I heard something . Can you please tell me why you were roaming around at night ?" Nomita remained silent for the rest of the time . Bassanio took her to his room and made her sit by the heater and went to the bathroom . He came out shirtless and went up to Nomita and asked her ," Are you fine now ?" , he then realized that her eyes were moist . There eyes met for a second and then Nomita hugged Bassanio burying her face in his bare chest . She felt Bassanio's arms wrap around her waist in response.  She had never been in such a close physical contact with any boy till now . His gesture comforted her and she felt most safe and secure lying in his arms . Neither of them wanted this moment to end . Then Bassanio said softly,"Do you have any idea of how much I'm in love with you ."  Nomita looked at him for a moment and nodded then she leaned forward and finally their lips met . She caressed her lips against his . The passionate kiss lasted for what seemed like forever . Nomita was the one to break away first .
