My Highschool Lover Part 1

RING!

      shit, that's the school bell. I didn't even get to finish my assignment, I guess I have to come up with an excuse for my English class. I quickly grab all my stuff from my desk and hurry out the classroom door to head home.

     While I walk home from school, I feel someone tap my shoulder. I turn around and then see my third-grade buddy, Malachi. It's a shame he had to grow up the way he did. He wasn't as pretty now. He currently had a bedhead hairstyle. Most girls at school think it's attractive, but I think it's stupid. I wish he looked exactly like he did when we were younger. 

 "Hey, my lovely lady friend." 

"I'm not your lovely lady friend," I said. "I'm your best friend."

 "That's how you like to think of it."

 "Whatever, anyway what are you doing here?"

 "Looking for you. Duh." 

" Why would you be looking for me?" I was more confused than ever at this point.

 "Because I am your guardian angel. I must stay by your si-"

 "I can take care of my self. I don't need you to look after me like your my parent. Your my best friend, not my protector, Got it?"

   I understood he was trying to be nice. Especially after that incident, but I can't have someone always watching over me. I need to be able to protect myself. And besides, that's for another story.

   "Seriously, when can you just agree with what I say, and not be an asshole for once?"

 "Never- mind. I need to go home and study anyway."

That's when he pins me to the wall and says, "Just stay at my place tonight." What he said was absolutely unbelievable. You cannot just tell your best friend to stay the night. Especially when it's a girl.  

"WHAT! n-no that is absurd!"

 "And it's absurd that you don't want to be alone with me. I'm your best friend. Right?" 

"Let go of me, Malachi!"

 "Shh, your gonna bring attention. Just come spend a night or two at my place. I'll give you three dollars." 

"F-fine...you jerk."
