We continued to wait for the perfect moment. It was quite boring because the only thing we watched was a tent. But a few moments later, Caesar and a few bodyguards editors and began to walk towards a stadium like building. It was obvious what it was, it was a gladiator arena. We waited until Caesar sat down in his chair and began to relax. I placed three fingers up and began to count them down.
"Fire in three, two, on-"
"Ah!"
I was cut off by a sword handle smashing into my jaw. It sent me into the ground. It took most of my wind so I couldn't stand up. I star up and say the Legate. He had turned around and stared at Mia, who now stood and faced the Legate.
"For Caesar!" The Legate yelled and swung the sword at Mia. I watched as it struck her helmet and shattered it. The helmet flew off of her as she fell. This was the first time I had ever seen her. She had crimson red hair and ruby eyes. It also seemed that she was the same age as me. But now her face bore a large cut running from her forehead to her chin. When she hit the ground I knew she had died. The Legate turned and faced me and raised his sword in the air. I closed my eyes knowing this was the end. But I heard a large groan. I stared up and saw Mia on the Legates back, with her knife dug into his neck. The Legate tried to resist and actually was able to stab a dagger into her but soon fell to the ground dead. Mia rolled off of him and rested against the rocks.
"I can't shoot, take the shot."
I nodded and rushed to the rifle. I picked it up and rested it on my shoulder. I peered into the sight only to see it shattered.
"Shit!"
"What?"
"The scopes broke. It probably broke during the small skirmish." She groaned.
"I know what to do." I quickly pushed upward and rummaged towards my binoculars. I picked them up.
"It won't work. The middle could be twenty feet wide."
I nodded and dropped them before rushing to the rifle again. I looked into the scope and tried my best to aim it towards Caesar. My finger twitched. As Caesar pulled his hand up to declare blood or spare, I pulled the trigger.
Silence filled the air as the bullet flew. It continued to fly until it hit Caesar's arm. It tore in half and went flying as if it was sheet paper in the wind.
"Tango down." I dropped the rifle and ran over to pick Mia up but she pushed me back.
"I won't make it."
"Yes, you will."
"Go! That's an order." I nodded and pulled my revolver out. I held it outward. She picked it up and laid it down on her legs.
"Kid, you'll become a hero." She snickered before pushing me back. I kept nothing and began to run.
I kept running until I knew I was safe. I'm the distance I could hear five gunshots. A few seconds later the last gunshot. I stopped for a stood. I raised my hand to salute but I knew I couldn't.
