So you're confident in your story, and now you want to know how everything is really going to work.
Well you heard we want seven stories. What that means is that we are looking for seven stories who's authors have committed to updating once a week on a schedule so that each story updates on a different day.
If you're reading on the computer, you can check out our profile banner to see which days have openings. Applications will only be accepted for available days. No matter how good your book is, we are loyal to our authors and their readers, so unless you can convince the other author to trade with you, then you will need to change your updating schedule to accomodate ours.
Remember...
It's all about the reader, so it's up to us writers arrogant enough to think other people want to read our words to bear some inconvenience such as changing an update schedule.
We keep coming back to that, so if you don't like hearing it, it might be best to part ways now, but we think most of you are wise enough to realize the benefits of a happy reader.
Now for the benefits...
If you think your story is a fit and we do too, and you are willing to change your update schedule to match ours (cringe). Then we think there are some very tangible benefits for authors who choose to work together.
Number 1: Every time a fellow SciNation author updates, we expect you to go in and vote for their chapter after flipping through it. Remember the algorithm keeps track of the number of readers who complete a chapter so don't just go to the first page and vote. We are looking to train the algorithm to recognize how great our fellow authors are. So think about it, that's at least seven votes a week if you plan on voting for your own chapters. Not to mention an encouraging comment here or there.
Number 1.5: Vote Storms, whenever we get a new member we will do our best to boost their visibility and expect you to return the favor. All new authors can expect vote storms for their existing chapters from each of our other authors. In return a new author should vote storm everyone else as well.
...So just got to thinking about it and realized number 1 and 1.5 are totally against the rules, so while they can't be hard rules, I hope everyone who's interested in helping out their own book understands that everyone else wants the same thing at the end of the day...
So in the end use your judgement and treat others as you would like to be treated :)
Number 2: At the end of each of your last chapter aside from what you normally write, we expect you to add this sentence or something similar however you can fit it in: "Interested in other ongoing scifi stories? Check out SciNation for new content everyday!"
So think about it, that's seven science fiction authors all actively sharing their audience and readers... the number of reads we will get...
Number 3: If you complete your story while a part of SciNation, we will add your completed story to our permanent reading list of graduates from our serial list as long as you keep the sentence from Number 2 at the end of your last chapter. Besides that, you will also get a vote storm from SciNation. And of course we hope you start releasing the next book as soon as possible so we can keep you in our ongoing list.
Number 4: Please follow us and all of our other authors so we can keep in touch and share tips. We want our cabal of authors to be close at SciNation and hope we can help each other too!
Final note, all votes are due the day you update your book, so please have them done by then!
