I woke up as the sun rays were striking against my face, took my backpack and left the house. Everything was quiet, a bit too quiet... I followed a straight dirt path heading to a lake near a forest. It looked like the place described in the diary, so I decide head to the countryside. Hours later, I could see some black smoke in the distance so I headed there right away... a solid, rock, house which seemed pretty solid, had the chimney smoking and somehow, the lights were on. Slowly squeeking the door, something behind my head knocks me down unconstiously for a few hours, I wake up sitting in a chair, tied by my hands and legs with a strong rope, a man looks at me, then asks:
"Who are you?"
My head still hurt from the hit but I tried to answer.
"I am only searching for food."
The man stared at me for a few seconds, motionless, and untied me, pointing to the kitchen, he then told me to take anything I needed and to leave. There was a food can on the table which I immediately opened with my crowbar and started eating, I took a few more cans from a large kitchen drawer and put them in my backpack as the man said:
"What brings you here?"
"The wind." I answered.
I didn't have time to ask him any questions so I thanked for the hospitality and left the house. The green grass was still wet from the rain but the sky was crystal clear. On the horizon, three zombies were trying to barge in a weakened hut, I tought someone could be in there, so I headed towards it. My steps got faster and faster as I was getting closer to the house, the zombies spot me as I take out my crowbar. A smashing hit to the head throws the first zombie dead on the ground as two other are trying to get me. I stick my crowbar into the second zombie as I kick the other one into a metal bar, penetrating his body, and getting him stuck in it. Without noticing, a zombie grabs me from behind and right before he bites me, a gunshot passes by my ear, killing the zombie. Looking back, I see a man with a gun pointing at me, ready to shoot, he then starts asking me who am I. He had a rifle with a few bullets and a handgun. I took out the crowbar from the dead body and put it in my backpack then tell the man that I'm here to do no harm and kindly asked if he could give me that handgun, as I was in desperate need of weapons.
"It has no more bullets." he answered.
Anyways, I took the gun and left, searching for ammunition and medkits in case of an emergency in the hut.
An old hospital was in my way, blocking the view of a beautiful, reddish sun. Once I got in there, I found an old, rusty office desk with a few dollars and a pen. As I was climbing the stairs to the second floor, a huge rock blocks my path, so I couldn't go any further. The sky got dark and it started raining again, so I decided to stay here for the night. Suddenly, I hear a crack in the wall and some moaning in the far end of the hospital, it was too risky to sleep here without checking so I took out my crowbar and headed to where the sound was coming from. As the moan was getting louder and louder, I see a victim covered in blood, laying on the cold concrete, asking for help. He couldn't talk as he was too thirsty and wounded so I took off my shirt and bandaged his leg. I told him to keep calm while I'll search for medkits and water. The raindrops were filtered by the cracks between the walls of the building so I decided to gather them in a jar. In the meantime, a part of the second floor collapsed, opening my way upstairs. The room was dark and I couldn't go there without a source of light so I went back to the victim and gave him the water as I was asking him who he is and if he had any flashlight with him. He coughed and pointed at his left pocket, where I found a small, handy flashlight, sone coins, and a phone, which was out of battery, albeit which could be helpful if I found a charger. He agreed with me taking them so I decided to dive into the darkness from the second floor, enlightened by my flashlight. Spiderwebs were all around the corners, as echoes of falling water droplets could be heard. The long hallway was leading to the surgery room where there was a flickering light and two dead corpses which were laying on the cold, bloody floor. Near them, was a first aid kit laying on a table. By the time I arrived, the victim was dead.
Waiting for the next day, I rested in a hospital bed as thunders were knocking at my windows and screams were not letting me sleep.
