Once upon a time there lived two princesses. They both were complete opposites. While one was as delicate as a feather, the other was as strong as a knight. While one smiled like the sunrise the other glared like night fall. All was fine—as though it seemed—till this one day.
"Oh my, what a pretty rose that is!" Princess Rosalinda exclaimed as she saw a wonderful light pink rose in the palace garden. The sun was shining and there were loads of pretty birds whistling around, she couldn't help but come outside to pick some flowers. She smiled happily as she looked around for more roses, her favorite flower. Rosalinda loved the outdoors. The pretty enchanting animals, gorgeous flowers and the beauty of nature pleased her the most. Her gorgeous, long blond hair was flying in the wind as her pretty chocolate brown eyes glinted in the sun.
All was going perfect—the flower scents, birds, sun—until everything went black.

On the other hand, deep inside the woods, princess Rosetta—Rosalinda's twin—was furious. She had sneaked out the palace to go to the small cottage in the woods. The cottage that was practically her second home.
Rosetta was tired of living in her sister's shadows. Since birth Rosetta was away everyone's favorite. They preferred the blonde haired brown eyed twin rather than the brunette twin. Rosetta couldn't take it anymore. Everyday people looking at her in disgust just because of her light rebellious side. Anything she did, people would not like.
When Rosalind had dyed her hair a shade darker everyone in the kingdom awed at her beauty. But when Rosetta dyed her hair blue—her favorite color—the kingdom stared at her in disappointment. Also unlike other princesses, Rosetta loathed wearing dresses and gowns. She would prefer wearing pants and clothes like all the men.It wasn't as though Rosetta looked hideous, no, she was a divine beauty as well but the kingdom always preferred delicate and sweet Rosalinda no matter what. Maybe because she was born first, or maybe because her soul was the most innocent one of all or even maybe because she put herself before others but Rosetta was not bad either.
However, even though people seemed to prefer Rosalinda much more, the two sisters maintained their relationship. They were practically inseparable. Rosalinda loved her sister so much that she would always take her side no matter what. Even even the whole kingdom is against her. Rosetta also loved her sister to bits...that is until now.
She silently walked towards the bedroom. The bedroom where she had Rosalinda locked up and tied to a chair. She slowly opened the door to see Rosalinda—wide eyed—staring at her. Rosalinda felt happy. She thought her sister had come to rescue her.
"Oh sister, thank you so much for coming to my rescue," she cried.
Rosetta slowly started walking towards her. "Who said I came to rescue you, sister."
That sentence changed everything. Rosalinda couldn't believe her ears. Her heart hurt at the betrayal she felt. It was like the room suddenly became excruciatingly cold. Her chest felt tight and she could feel the hair at the back of her neck rise up. She knew Rosalinda and she knew what she was up to.
"What do you mean?" Rosalinda slowly spoke.
"All my life I've been living in your shadows. Everybody hates me. They all prefer the gorgeous and delicate Princess Rosalinda not the brave and strong Rosetta. I'm sick and tired of being treated like shit. I'm tired of no one believing me and no one wanting to know my great qualities. I'm tired of being the worst twin, being a disgrace to the kingdom but most of all, I'm tired of you!" Rosetta cried.
She slowly removed a large dagger from the back pocket of her pants. "Now I can end it all" Rosetta laughed psychotically.
Fear clutched Rosalinda's chest in a horrifying manner. She knew what Rosetta was capable of doing which scared her the most. She knew that when Rosetta is angry, she could do absolutely anything even if it ends up on the terrible side. Rosetta stared at the knife. Her eyes glinting by the the shiny sharp object.
"Now I can finally be who I've always wanted to be." She said and walked much closer to Rosalinda.
Rosetta unable to move cried. "Sister please, do not do that! I'm your own sister, your own blood. What happened to our close bond. Please stop this nonsense. If this is about wanting to be the queen at coronation, then I shall give you my spot sister. I would do anything for you but just please stop this!"
"You call this nonsense!" Rosetta seethed. "This us not nonsense. I can finally be criticism free. People will start to look up to me as I would be next in line for the throne not you. I can finally live the dream life I've always wished for. Finally!"
Rosetta lifted the dagger and positioned it in front of Rosalinda, keeping space.
"In the count of three, I shall finish you off!" She laughed. "One....two.....thr—"
And Rosetta's dead body fell to the ground. A large knife pushed into her back. Rosalinda opened her eyes which were closed as she was waiting for the impact of the knife. In front of was none other than her bodyguard slash lover.
"Brandon!" She started. "Why did you kill her! She is my sister."
Fresh tears fell out of her eyes as she stared at her sister's limp, dead body on the cold floor. She felt as though the room was spinning and she could barely breath. A thousand thoughts ran through her mind but the most important one. Did her sister really deserve to die?
"She was about to kill you!" Brandon said in disbelief that she took her dead sister's side. "I was watching you through the palace window when you were in the garden and I saw that Rosetta held a chloroform cloth against your nose and when you passed out she took you away. I then immediately ran and followed her but I kinda got late as I was at the top of the palace and she was down."
Rosalinda felt shocked at his outburst. She felt really grateful in her life that she had Brandon who loved her so much. "I'm so sorry I got mad at you. Thank you for saving my life but you didn't have to kill her." She said sadly.
"We all know that she deserved it," he said and then went towards her to untie her.
