"I already know shovel chin , it was obvious." Eddy speaks up,breaking the silence.
"Does that mean you're okay with it Eddy?" I calmly speak.
"I accept it but I'm not okay with it. It's your choice but you haven't forgotten what this jackass did to us when we were kids, have you?" Eddy glares.
"I-I haven't forgotten , but he's changed Eddy." I shallow the lump in my throat.
"That's why we came today. I want to apologize for everything I've done. I just want to make sure we get along from now on for Double D's sake." Kevin tightens his grip on my hand.
"You don't have to apologize , just make sure you don't hurt him and make sure to keep him happy. The second you do , I'll be there to take him. " "And always serve him butter toast!"
"Eddy!" I cry out in joy embracing him in a hug. "Thank you." I whisper in his ear. "You too Ed!" I embrace both my friends in a hug.
"Thank you guys, I'll make sure to protect him." Kevin smiles holding my hand again.
"Well shovel chin, do ya want to stay and have some pizza?"
"We would love to Eddy." I answer for him.
We step inside the house and hang out watching Ed's Alien horror flicks and eating pizza.
It's 8:00 pm when we finally leave. We drive back to Kevin's house and I remember Frank. I forgot about the key!
How am I suppose to explain how I got my key back? Think Edd , think!
After about 1 minute of thinking I finally come up with a good excuse.
"Um K-kevin?"
"What's up Edd?"
"I forgot to tell you but when we were at school I found my key! It was in the hallway after the fight. I guess Frank must have dropped it!" I try my best to sound geniune.
"What? Really? Is it really your key?" He questions.
"It sure is look , it has my sticker on it." I pull out the key from my pocket and show Kevin the small black kitty sticker I had on the back of the key.
"Oh. So it really...is your key. So that means you can go back to ...your place..huh. Um Do you want to go now , or do you...you know want to stay one more night at my place?"
Kevin averts his eyes and in the moonlight I can see a hint of red on his cheeks.Chuckling I kiss him on the cheek, "I'll stay here tonight, if that's what you want Kevin."
Kevin blushes and nods his head smiling sweetly at me.
******
"OK I'm done Edd." Kevin opens the door, walking inside the room with only a towel wrapped around his hips."K-Kevin put on a shirt please!" I shriek hiding behind his blanket .
"I can't my back's still wet dorko." He laughs.
He puts on a pair of boxers and I squeak when he catches me staring. He smirks and jumps into bed with me. "Like what you see dorko." He laughs. "No! I'd like it if you'd put on a shirt!" I shout as he embraces me in a hug. "Sure you would." He chuckles.
We spend the night cuddled up together, Kevin holding me tightly. I don't want this night to end, I think to myself.
