A/n ok think of this one in the teen titans cartoon universe from 2003, and from know on I'll tell you if a chapter is in teen titans universe or young justice universe.

Dicks POV

Slade
The name that haunted me in my sleep when I was still with the titans, I was always so determined to take him down because I was so scared if him, scared I would grow up and become him.

Every day I would lock myself in a room to look at newsletter clippings and files the whole time I was in that room I would barely eat and barely slept until someone ether dragged me out or I would give it a break, the titans always thought me and him were the the same and they were right there were some similarities but there are also differences.

When I was still with the titans after 3 years of trying to take him down he just disappeared, one day he was trying to make me his apprentice the next it was like he never was there, we looked in all of his old hideouts well the ones we new about, but there was no traces of him, we even called in batman and superman to see if they could find anything like a hidden basement or something but no, nothing.

Years passed and I left the titans to work in bludhaven but I still checked in with them every now and again and I would help them with some missions now and again, I'm even still with star, but now that Bruce is gone I'm forced to become batman and take Damian on as my protégé, and I barely hear from the titans anymore, but I know they are doing great with starfire leading them, with the help of beast boy.

I know what your thinking 'what about cy? Shouldn't he be helping her?' Well he could if it isn't for the fact he joined the justice league, so I see him when I'm at the watch tower and we talk a lot and I hear him and bumble bee are doing great.

Here I am sitting in the cave at the batcomputer reading over my old teen titans files when Damian came down without making a sound "hey Dami" I said without even turning around, "how did you know it was me Grayson?" I smiled and turned my chair around to look at him and I did jazz hands "magic! I did grow up in a circus after all" I said "yeah, yeah what ever Grayson" he said then he looked up at the screen and almost laughed "who's that?" He asked.

I turned the chair around and it was control freaks file, "that is control freak used to be one of the villains me and the titans fought" I said, he looked at me "your kidding, he must have been so easy" he said looking back at the screen "well him himself was easy, but the monsters he conjured up with his magic remote is what the challenges were" I said and showed he m a clip of control freak using his remote to make a monster.

"Huh" he said, I switched to the next file and I could feel Damian stiffen, but so did I.

Slade, that's who was on the screen now staring at us as if he was about to jump out of the screen and kill us, "why is he in you're titan files!?" Damn asked, I sighed "because he's one of the villains me and the titans had to fight" I said feeling some anger shoot through me, "you had to fight him? Why did he waist his time on you?" Damn asked in his special way and I rolled my eyes.

I turned to Damian "because before he disappeared from jump city he wanted me to be his apprentice" I said and his eyes widened for a second before going back to normal "but why" he asked "because he said that with my skills and knowledge I would be the perfect apprentice to take his place when he was old, and he succeeded for a while until the titans found the torture devises in there blood stream and figured out why I betrayed them. To protect them" I said and sighed and stood up.
