with Eliza."
That shattered Alexander's heart. He hated himself for not loving Eliza romantically, and he didn't want to break up with her unless it was necessary. He just didn't realize how soon it would be necessary, because Alexander couldn't let Maria allow herself to be beaten on a daily basis.
"Fine." A satisfied expression flitted onto Maria's face for just a moment, but it died away nearly instantaneously.

Jefferson had been listening the whole time, and all he could think was, Holy crap I've got a chance! I thought there was no way in hell that he would ever want to break up with her, but aparrently he already does! I mean, I should be upset about their relationship ending, and sad for Eliza, but I could finally be with the man of my dreams!
Thomas looked up towards Franklin's desk, and remembered someone he never should've forgotten. James. He could never, ever, hurt his sweet, kind boyfriend, and even thinking about Hamilton made Jefferson feel like he was cheating.

Lunch arrived sooner rather than later, and Alexander was not nearly as happy as normal. He sat with his usual crew: Laurens, Lafayette, Mulligan, and Burr.
They were loud and obnoxious while eating their garbage school lunches, just like every other day. But, today John decided to have them all play Truth or Dare.
"Alright, Burr, truth or dare," John asked. Aaron looked uncomfortable.
"Uh... truth, I guess."
Elated, John immediately responded with his question.
"So, are you seeing anyone, Burr?" He shook his head but blushed ferociously at the same time, which was a dead give away. "What are you try'na hide Burr."
"I'm seeing someone, sorta," Burr started nervously, looking around multiple times to make sure nobody was listening in on their conversation. "But... he's got a girlfriend."
"Oh," they all said.
"He's dating a Loyalist."
"Merde!" Laf exclaimed, earning many looks and a glare from one of the teachers. "Apologies," he shouted, mainly towards Mr. Jean-Babtiste, the French teacher who was mainly referred to by his last name, Rochambeau.
Rochambeau gave Lafayette a curt nod before looking away and continuing his meal.
"Well, Burr, you can choose whoever you want to now!"
Burr rolled his eyes.
"I know how truth or dare works, John." The smallest of smiles flashed across Burr's face for a moment. "Laurens, truth or dare."
"Dare," John replied.
"I dare you to jump onto the table and scream, 'Fight me George Kingsley' in front of everyone."
"Easy," John said smoothly.
And he did exactly as he was sared to. He ended up getting detention for the rest of the week, and an angry George Kingsley telling him to 'Catch me ousside'"
This only made all of us, John included, laugh even harder.
"Alright, Laf, truth or dare?"
"How you say, ah, dare." The entire table rolled their eyes.
"Okay I dare you to never say 'how you say' again," Laurens said with a smirk. Lafayette looked like someone had kicked his puppy.
"P-please, mon ami," Lafayette pleaded.
Laurens grunted. "Fine, only for the rest of the day." Lafayette brightened and turned to his boyfriend.
"Herc, truth or dare?"
"Dare," he said smoothly.
If possible, Lafayette brightened even more than before.
"Yay! Your dare is to hold hands with me for the rest of the day until school ends." Everyone but the two of them pretended to barf.
"Really, Frenchman? I give Laurens an actual dare and you act all happy when Herc says dare and you tell him to hold your hand?" Burr was surprised thatLaf was being so soft.
"I have a good one, but Herc's gonna give it to Alexander real soon." Everyone looked at Alexander, and he squirmed in his chair.
"Alexander, truth or dare," Herc boomed.
"Uh, truth?"
"Tell me and Lafayette who you have a crush on."
John and Burr looked surprised.
"But he's just gonna say Eliza since she's his girlfriend." Burr nodded in agreement with what John had said.
Alexander leaned over towards Hercules and Lafayette, whispering something in Laf's ear before doing the same with Herc.
"Oh my god," Lafayette muttered.
"I called it," Hercules replied. "You owe me ten bucks," he finished, pointing at his boyfriend.
Alexander was even more embarrassed than he had been when asked the question.
Lafayette slowly took out his wallet, and he was about to open it when the bell rang.
"Lafa-yeet," he yelled from his spot halfway down the hallway.
"Wait! I'm supposed to be holding your hand!" Hercules charged after him, accidentally knocking over a few small freshman on the way.
Burr had left to be with his mysterious boyfriend, and Laurens shuffled away nervously when he saw that he and Alexander were alone. That left Alexander to finish his terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
