Chapter 6. Going home...

Right now I'm in a car with Jake Meyers heading home at 11pm.

"You okay?" He asks me

"Yep..." I say

"How are you Jade, I haven't really talked to you properly in these past five years..." He says casually as his words leave a mark on me.

"Great,made some friends and having a ball of course!" I say sarcastically. Why am I still bothered by his comment.

"I'm sorry did I?" He ask as he looks at me confused.

"It's okay..." I say as I smile

"What did you mean by me not changing today?" I blurt out not realising that I was thinking about that.

My word shock as he lets out a small laugh.

"Hah I though you'd never ask... I'm happy you haven't changed that's all, it makes me feel like I'm at home when I'm with you I like that!" As he smiles at me

"Ditto!" I say as I high five

"But that doesn't mean you haven't changed totally I mean your hot now and well..." I interrupt as I punch him realising I'm home 

"Well I guess this is the last time we ever talk so I'll see you around Jake!" I say casually but actually it's killing me inside

"Wait!" His eyes look confused and full of anger by my comment. He walks out of the car as he comes in front of me

"I haven't change that much either Jade, I'm not a jerk and I was teasing when I asked you to do all the work for the project..." He says as he places his hand on my bare thigh. This time it was bare reminding me what happened in lesson with him. That must've hurt him more than I thought.

Before I can reply he is in his car and driving away.

I enter the house as I leave the project on the side.

"You're back!" Peyton says as she puts on her coat.

"Where you going?" I ask her

"Home... it's getting late I'll see you in the morning sweetie-" She says as she kisses my brother on the cheek

"Actually I'm going to leave by myself tomorrow, but I'll see you around yeah!" I say shocking both Peyton and Alex.

I left as I headed upstairs. Why was I so angry? My feelings were still everywhere as I the dance kept replaying in my head and our conversation after it and the conversation in the car. They were all mixed up in my head. Making me get a headache.

"Knock knock..."

"Come in!" I say in a raspy voice

"You okay?" My brother asks as he sits next to me

"Fine why?" I say as I smile trying to hide the fact I'm clearly not.

"Did he do something to you?" He asks as he studies my face carefully

"No he didn't..."

"Oh...did I?" He asks looking really worried

"I'm okay." I say as I place my hands on his shoulder but look away quickly. Why do I feel like this. I feel like crying.

"Dad called..." He says as his voice trails away making me look up

"And... we talked yesterday?" I ask

"To ask how mum was..." He says

"What!?! Why?"

"I don't know... he asked if we know anything, I said no... do you?" He asks

No wounded he looks out of place today.

"No..." I say

"I missed you today..." He says as he places his head on my thighs.

"As long as we have each other we'll be fine..." I say calming him down. I don't know how he is older sometime.

"Do you remember when we younger and Mum and Dad would always be busy fighting and you would come into my room and put me to sleep by acting out my storybook?" I say trying to lighten the mood.

"Yeah..." He says as he starts laughing

"Can you do that tonight... I feel uneasy today, it was a hectic day today..." I say finally revealing how I really felt. Making his eyebrows go up.

"No! Never!" He says as he gets up

"Why?" I say as I pout like a little girl.

"No J-" He gets interrupted by the bang of the door downstairs.

"I'm home!!" My mum shouts as we run downstairs like little kids.

"Mum we won!" My brother shouts as my mum gives us a big hug.

I smile at her as I tuck a piece of hair behind my ear.

"That's fantastic honey I'm so proud of you!" She says as she walk into the kitchen

"Dinners ready, I'm going to bed mum..."

"Okay darling!" She says shouting from her room.

"Mum I'll be coming home late, I just remembered I have something important to do..." He says as he puts on his jacket.

I was surprised to see Alex home. He's never home. He's always out. As for my mothers reply she doesn't reply just keeps on eating.

I walk up to the door as I look at him.

"Where you going?" I ask having an idea

"The-" He starts

"After party?" I Interrupt

"Yeah..." He says as he opens the door.

"Have fun idiot!" I say as I close the door

"Night baby sis!" He says as he slams the door in my face

I head upstairs to see my phone spazzing out. It's Pheebs on FaceTime! Boy is she in for a treat tonight.

3 hours later

She blinks, blinks again. She rubs her eyes as she puts her head down before...

"ARGHHHHHHHHHH YOU GUYS ARE SO CUTE HES THE ONE! HE LOVES YOU , YOU'RE GONNA GET MARRIED AND HAVE BEAUTIFUL KIDS AND IM GOING TO BE THERE EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!!!!!" She says as she continues to scream a load of other total rubbish. I mute her as I get ready for bed. As I watch her going up and down her room. I start laughing. I feel sorry do her dad. But I speak to soon as I see Mr Benell walk in very angrily. I unmute it quickly.

"Phoebe Benell quiet!" He shouts as he finally sees me as he smiles. Phoebe shaking from her dads reaction before Mr Benell saying...

"Now goodnight Phoebe and goodnight Jade..." Slamming the door on his way out. Making us laugh non stop.

"Okay miss it is goodnight for me its three in the morning we have school tomorrow..." I say as I yawn.

"You're right I'll see you at 1 tomorrow bye love ya!" She says as she ends the line. I knew this meant I wouldn't actually see her till 1 making me laugh as I turn off the lamp light. What a hectic day!
