"Hey chici! What's up?"
Acclie let out a sigh of relief. Thank God!
Acclie put on her perky voice. "Hey Kar. I just settled in to eat some dinner.. And you?"
"Ugh, ditto. My condo is SO boring," Karra exaggerated. "Make my torture end and how 'bout we go to Club Meznon?"
Acclie examined her nails. "Umm... Sounds fun I guess. I don't have anything better to do, so, why not?"
Karra giggled. "That's the spirit! Get your damn mind off that prick and puh-lease dress in a very provacative manner! I'll pick you up in 2."
Acclie's mouth gaped. "Karra! You are so rude," she laughed. "And I'll see what I have. Toodles!"
Acclie hit end and threw away her T.V. dinner dish. She sauntered into her walk-in closet that led to her en-suite master bath, and searched for something that would fit Karra's definition of "provacative". Acclie ended up finding a very short mini, a blank tank, and a distressed-denim crop blazer. She sat down at her make-up vanity and put on mascara, some brown liquid eyeshadow that would make her hazels pop, eyeliner, and foundation. After straightening her brown waves and 2 hours later, Karra showed up at her door.
"You little ho. I would have even hitched up this skirt another few intches!" She starting coming toward Acclie, hands out-stretched.
"NO, no, the skirt is fine. If I sit down you can see my hoo-ha for shit's sake. Let's just go. It's 8:30."
"As you wish!" They got into Karra's Mercedes (which she begged and begged her rich, retired father for) and drove to Club Meznon. Acclie gazed out the window. Alex would have loved the new, exclusive, Club Meznon. A good friend of Karra and Acclie's, Chris Meznon, promoted the Club about a month ago to make his name even more "out there". Sometimes, though, Acclie hated Chris's snobbiness. He got everything handed to him on a silver platter. Despite the fact Acclie and Karra were given the most exculsive spot of Meznon, the V.I.P. loft overlooking the dance floor, Acclie wanted that fame too and was jealous of Chris.
"My Gawd. This place is packed. What the hell?" Karra exclaimed.
"You know it. Chris always putting on a damn show." Acclie answered sarcastically.
The place was packed. There were dancers in air-borne cages twisting and grinding about in skimpy outfits. The bass shook all of Acclie's insides, and there were SWARMS of people just crammed together, dancing. Soon enough, Acclie's heart was beating the same beat of the bass, and she couldn't hear herself speak.
"Oh my God! Chris has really out done himself!" Acclie yelled to Karra.
But Karra was gone. Acclie frantically looked for her, thinking she was so stupid to lose her in this crowd of people. She spotted Karra grinding on a hot, muscular, lanky guy having a great time.
Acclie let out a relieved sigh.
Just then, she saw that shaggy, messy, ash-blonde hair. Alex?! Acclie watched him turn, only to get engulfed by all the dancers. She started after "Alex".
"Alex!" Acclie screamed.
She kept pushing through all the people, and tried to keep her eyes focused on that hair she loved so much. "Alex!!!" Acclie screamed again, but louder. Did he hear her?
"WAIT! Alex! Please! Come back...." Acclie screamed as loud as she could.
As loud as she could wasn't loud enough. She only recieved side-long glances from a few dancers.
"Ale-" Acclie started, but a scrawny hand grabbed her arm.
"Acclie? What are you doing? Let's go dance babes!"
"Karra! Please, you wouldn't understand. Let me go! It's Alex! He's here... And slipping away fast," Acclie's eyes darted around for her love. "Karra, c'mon, please, let me go now!"
Karra didn't let go. She kept tugging Acclie to come dance with her and the new guy she had met. Karra didn't care, either. She wanted to get Acclie away from thinking of Alex.
"KARRA! Let me go now! This is serious! I've waited months and months for this!"
Karra kept pulling.
"LET ME GO YOU BITCH!" Acclie screamed.
Karra's jaw dropped as she turned around. "Aha. You know what? I was right about you. Go on with your little obsession about finding what never was, and leave me out of it. And quite frankly, I'm not the bitch here." Karra pushed past Acclie and strutted into Chris's personal lounge.
"Karra, wait! I didn't mean it.... Come back!" Acclie called for her, but it was pointless. Karra was gone.
Acclie searched for the mess of blonde hair once more, but everyone looked the same. She squeezed her eyes shut and when she opened them, tears streamed out. Acclie shoved through everyone to get to the door. Just getting through the crowd made her tired and weak. Finally, she reached the entrance. A refreshing burst of air came over her as she stepped into the night.
She flagged down a taxi for home and checked her iPhone. Nothing. Nothing from Alex which made her disappointed and sad once again. Screw her damn life.
