Jungkook had no trouble sleeping that night, replaying that odd bedtime story. How that weird guys smile was so box like. He liked it, a lot about him he liked. His laugh and his way with kids, almost like a big brother. Unlike Mr.Park who was all business, trying to pry him open to ask about his mother. He shivered under his warm sheets thinking of her. He loved her dearly, she was the only one to understand him. How he loved the moments when she was sober, petting his ivy black hair, whispering words of love. Sleeping in an orphanage wasn't part of his plan. Having to go to school tomorrow was an even worse plan. He shut his eyes tightly, replaying that odd story in his head over and over until sleep found its way to his sleepy eyes.

"Iced latte for Mingyu!" Taehyung called out, placing a cookie on the customer's plate. Smiling as he turned to finish more orders. Yoongi behind him, working at the cashier. "Hyung, want me to take over the cashier?" he asked, watching the older rub his eyes. "Can you? I stayed up watching this dumb drama with Namjoon, then he spent another three hours talking about the 'deeper meaning' behind it. I swear I have to get him laid." Yoongi grumbled out, wrapping his apron in a wrinkled ball. Taehyung chuckled,"You always talk about your roommate but I've never met him." Yoongi shrugged, watching Taehyung serve another drink before taking a customers order. "He's always stuck inside the studio writing lyrics or bothering me, I'll see if I can bring him over for you." Yoongi wouldn't admit he had a soft spot for the younger, he liked how he worked without complaining, he liked that he could befriend people in a matter of seconds. Something Yoongi always envied. "That would be nice to meet the infamous destructor." he smiled, turning to face the older, the cafe full of chatter. "You make good music Hyung, I don't understand why you're still working here."
"I'm working on getting my music out there." Yoongi waved his hand, as if 'out there' was inside the cafe. "Why are you still here? You're smart, you should go to college kiddo." Taehyung shrugged, "I like working with people, college seems scary and unfriendly. Plus I need time to see my kids." He paused, quickly taking a girls order. "They'll miss me." Yoongi rolled his eyes, sighing as he stood up straight. "Whatever you say Tae."

---

"Mhm, I think you'd like him, he's kinda cold at first but he's my closest friend aside from you." Taehyung was sprawled on the floor, arms up in the air as he described Yoongi. "What if I start to like him more than you and make him my bestfriend." Jimin teased, stepping over Taehyungs legs to grab a binder. "I will cry for days if you do that to me Jimin." he whined, suddenly grabbing Jimins legs with his own, refusing to let go. Jimin chuckled as he tried pulling his leg away. "I'm too busy to befriend anyone anyways." Jimin finally pulled away and stared at his whiny friend. "Go see Jungkook. He should be here."

At that Taehyung sat up, stretching before he left the room. Searching for the boys room, peeking in before he entered. The room was plain, it looked like the kid didn't have anything to bring.
He got lost in his thoughts, jumping at the noise he heard at the door. "Oh." Taehyungs face immediately brightened as he saw a young boy, he was small framed, his black hair making him look pale. "I'm Taehyung! You must be Jungkook, right? I promise I wasn't snooping, I was just waiting to meet you."
Jungkooks face was flustered, not being able to meet Taehyungs gaze. For the first time in a couple of days he spoke. "I-It's okay.."
"Ah! So you do speak, Jimin was about to write down that you were deaf." Taehyung chuckled, sticking out his hand for the other to shake. Tilting his head when Jungkook didn't shake it. "I don't work here but you can consider me as one of the orphans, since I'm always here. Do you like your room plain? I can bring you some posters or something, it has to suck to come from your house to this place right?" Jungkook nodded, feeling at ease, he was a bit put off from the sudden presence but enjoyed the rambling, it was easier for him not to speak.
"I'll bring you something then Jungkook." Jungkook met Taehyungs gaze, smiling at how softly he said his name.
"If anything bothers you, tell me and I'll see if I can change it." Jungkook thought for a second before mumbling "Park keeps trying to ask about my mom." Jungkook honestly liked how easy it was to talk to Taehyung, he didn't feel scared being around the stranger. He still kept his distance, watching Taehyung chuckle a bit. "From now on, he won't ask you anything like that anymore okay?" Jungkook nodded. Taehyung, wanting to talk to the other a bit more sat on the floor, motioning Jungkook to relax. "What do you like to do Jungkook?" He asked, watching the younger sit on the other side of the room. "...read." "Thats cool, maybe you should come and sit with the other kids when I read for bedtime." He flashed his 'box smile', Jungkook had opted not to go, but as soon as he saw Taehyungs smile he was convinced. Taehyung had figured that Jungkook was quiet as he continued to talk to him, either getting a simple 'yes' or 'no', if he was lucky he'd get a 'I guess'. He didn't complain though, he liked watching Jungkooks facial expressions, it told him more then the boy was willing to say. While Jungkook on the other hand thrived in the attention, he felt at ease. Taehyung was different in his eyes, weird and loud. He liked it.

Maybe Jungkook could learn to like it here.

(Im sorry for making everything move slowly, I promise next chapter I'll progress it more)
